Rahul Praises SC’s Remarks on Bulldozer Action: BJP’s Policy Exposed, Constitution Will Prevail

Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, praised the Supreme Court’s remarks in the bulldozer action case. He stated that the anti-constitutional face of the BJP, which crushes humanity and justice under the bulldozer, has been exposed.

Rahul posted on social media that the country will run by Baba Saheb’s constitution, not by the whip of power.

Supreme Court’s Hearing on Bulldozer Actions Across the Country

On Monday, the Supreme Court conducted a hearing on the bulldozer actions taken against the accused across the country. The Supreme Court questioned how property could be demolished just because a person is an accused. The bench of Justices Vishwanathan and B.R. Gavai stated, “Even if someone is guilty, such actions cannot be taken.”

Supreme Court’s Remarks on Bulldozer Actions, Central Government’s Response

Supreme Court: “We are not talking about illegal encroachments here. The parties related to this case should give suggestions. We can issue guidelines for the entire country.”

Supreme Court: “A person’s son may be an accused, but demolishing the father’s house because of this? This is not proper action.”

Central Government: “No accused’s property has been demolished because they committed a crime. Actions against the accused’s illegal encroachments have been taken under the Municipal Act.”

Allegations in the Petition: Victims Were Not Given a Chance to Defend Themselves

Jamiat’s lawyer Farooq Rashid stated that state governments are encouraging bulldozer actions on homes and properties to harass and intimidate minorities.

The petition also alleges that the governments did not give the victims a chance to defend themselves. Instead, without waiting for the legal process, the victims’ homes were immediately bulldozed as punishment.

August 2024: Action Against Stone Pelter’s House in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh

On August 21, within 24 hours of stone pelting at the Kotwali police station in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, the government demolished a three-story mansion worth ₹20 crores, spread over 20,000 square feet. None of the family members were present when the mansion was being demolished. According to the FIR, all four brothers incited the mob to attack the police.

August 2024: Bulldozer Action on Accused’s House After Stabbing Incident in Udaipur, Rajasthan

In Udaipur, a class 10 student from a government school stabbed another student, leading to widespread arson and violent protests across the city. On August 17, a bulldozer action was taken on the accused student’s house. Earlier, following government instructions, the Forest Department had issued a notice to the accused’s father, Salim Sheikh, to vacate the illegal settlement.

June 2024: Demolition of Six Properties of Two Accused in Muradabad and Ballia, Uttar Pradesh

In Muradabad, a bulldozer was used on the house of a person who attempted to kidnap a married woman. The woman’s parents and brother, who opposed the kidnapping, were shot by the accused. At the same time, in Bareilly, the hotel of Zeeshan, the owner who beat a young man to death over a dispute related to rotis, was demolished.

Sunny’s birthday was on June 26. Sunny had ordered 150 rotis from Mashal Hotel’s owner, Zeeshan. Zeeshan delivered only 50 rotis and refused to provide the remaining 100. As the dispute escalated, Zeeshan and his accomplices beat Sunny to death.
