Rahul Gandhi Demands Immediate Arrest of Adani, Accuses PM Modi of Protecting Him Despite Billion-Dollar Scam

On Thursday, Rahul Gandhi held a press conference regarding the corruption allegations against businessman Gautam Adani in the United States. He stated, “Adani is involved in a scam worth 2,000 crore rupees and is getting away with it because Prime Minister Modi is protecting him.

Gautam Adani has committed crimes in America, but nothing is being done against him in India. The chairman of SEBI, Madhabi Puch, who is protecting Adani, should face legal action.”

During a hearing in the Federal Court in New York, Gautam Adani and seven others have been accused of billions of dollars in fraud and accepting bribes.

The United States Attorney’s Office has stated that Adani allegedly paid or planned to pay $265 million (approximately 2,200 crore rupees) in bribes to Indian officials to secure a solar energy contract in India.

Rahul Gandhi Accuses PM Modi of Protecting Adani

In today’s press conference, Rahul Gandhi stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given the message: “One is safe if they are together.” He added, “If Adani and Modi are together in India, they are safe. No one can take action against Adani in India.

A chief minister is jailed for accusations involving 10-15 crore rupees, but Adani is involved in a scam worth 2,000 crore rupees. The reason for this is that the Prime Minister is protecting him. PM Modi is shielding Adani, and he himself is involved in corruption.”

Rahul Gandhi Updates on Press Conference: Allegations Against Adani and Modi

During his press conference, Rahul Gandhi shared updates on the ongoing issue and accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of shielding Gautam Adani. He stated, “We are raising this issue. As the leader of the opposition, I am highlighting this matter. Adani fully supports the BJP. Our demand is for the formation of a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC). Behind Adani, the Prime Minister of India stands. A common person is jailed for even a small crime, but nothing happens to Adani.”

Gandhi posed the question, “Why is Adani still out of jail?” He pointed out that American agencies have indicated Adani’s involvement in crimes, but the Prime Minister is not taking any action, adding, “PM Modi is under pressure and cannot do anything because he is linked with Adani.”

He further claimed, “Nothing will happen to Adani, he will not be arrested, because Modi is with him. Legal action should be taken against those involved in this matter.” Gandhi mentioned that the FBI had already conducted an investigation into Adani and reiterated his earlier calls for an investigation into the corruption. He also expressed, “Until Adani is arrested, the matter will not be resolved.”

He accused Adani of funding the BJP and said, “Modi cannot arrest Adani. If he does, Modi will also fall.” Rahul Gandhi also claimed that Adani had hijacked the nation’s resources and emphasized, “We have been raising this issue for a long time, but nothing is happening. Now Modi’s credibility is at stake.”

The opposition leader also stated that the truth about Adani’s actions would gradually come to light, mentioning cases in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Kenya. He concluded by accusing the Prime Minister of facilitating Adani’s business interests wherever he went and promised that more revelations would emerge in time.
