PM Modi to Inaugurate Yashobhoomi Airport Express Line: Commuters Snap Selfies
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first phase of the India International Convention and Expo Center (IICC) in Dwarka, New Delhi, shortly. This world-class facility is set to become the largest MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) center globally.
The Prime Minister had earlier inaugurated the extension of the Airport Express Line (Metro Line) from Dwarka Sector-21 to Dwarka Sector-25. The new Dwarka Sector-25 station is directly connected to Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport and significant locations within the city.
Prime Minister Modi is traveling on this metro to reach Dwarka. He and other dignitaries will be attending the inauguration of India International Convention and Expo Center (IICC) here. This convention center is not only connecting India Gate but also the significant places within Delhi.
The IICC, despite serving as India’s diplomatic envoy, is also significant as it hosted the G20 summit on 9th and 10th of this month. Approximately INR 54 billion has been spent to develop this infrastructure on 219 acres. While 123 acres have been earmarked for India Gate.
“3000 Cars Parking Facility All at Once”
In the convention center, an underground parking facility has been built, allowing 3000 cars to be parked simultaneously. This center utilizes rainwater drainage as well and offers rainwater harvesting facilities.
The Yashobhumi Convention Center has several unique features.
- It can accommodate more than 11,000 people.
- The center includes 15 convention rooms, a grand ballroom, and 13 meeting rooms.
- The convention center’s plenary hall will provide a global-level experience for meetings.
- The government has allocated an estimated budget of 5,400 crore rupees for its construction.
- It spans an area of more than 219 acres.
- It will feature the largest LED screen in the country.
“New Parliament Will Unveil the Tricolor for the First Time”
The special session of Parliament will commence in the old building from September 18. It will be the first time that the national flag will be hoisted on the new Parliament building by Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar. The flag hoisting ceremony was not held since the inauguration of the new building on May 28. The flag-hoisting ceremony will take place at the Gajdwar gate.
“PM Modi to Launch PM Vishwakarma Skill Recognition Scheme Today”
On the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the PM Vishwakarma Skill Recognition Scheme. This scheme will benefit people associated with 18 industries, and an expenditure of INR 13,000 crores has been allocated for this purpose. Seventy ministers will be present at 70 selected locations across the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on July 26th this year. The G20 summit was also held there. This convention center has a capacity of more than 7,000 people and is even larger than Sydney’s Opera House, where up to 5,500 people can be accommodated.
