Missing Patient from Rajkot Civil Hospital’s Ward-2 Found Shivering and Half-Naked Near Ward-10 Kitchen at 6 AM
Another incident of negligence has surfaced at Rajkot’s Civil Hospital. A video has emerged showing a patient, who was admitted in the surgery ward, found unconscious in the lobby in the morning. This has raised questions about the hospital’s management and care. The young man, who was found near a tea shop, had been admitted to the surgery ward, and the entry log indicated that he had left the ward at 11:30 PM.
However, it was later reported around 6 AM that the patient was found near the kitchen of ward number 10. He was promptly transferred for further treatment. Dr. Hetal Kyada, the Additional Civil Superintendent, assured that CCTV footage would be reviewed and action would be taken against those responsible.
Patient’s Escape Reported at Police Station After Being Admitted to Surgery Ward
According to reports, on November 19th at 3:30 PM, a 35-year-old man, showing signs of physical assault, was found near a tea shop close to Avadhna Dhalia. Upon receiving the information, an ambulance arrived at the scene.
The young man was admitted to the surgery ward at the Civil Hospital around 4 PM. The patient, who was admitted to Surgery Ward No. 2, escaped from the ward at 11:30 PM, and the incident was reported to the police station by the hospital.
Patient Found Shivering and Half-Naked at Civil Hospital
The young man who had escaped from the surgery ward was later found in a half-naked, unconscious state near the kitchen of the old Ward 10 at the Civil Hospital. Hospital staff reported the incident to the helpdesk, after which the patient was readmitted in a shivering condition, and a stretcher was used to transport him.
The on-duty attendant, Mamta Ben, also informed the concerned medical officer, Dr. Vivek, about the patient. Despite the patient being in no condition to walk, questions have been raised about how he ended up half-naked near the kitchen area on the morning of November 20th. This incident has raised several concerns regarding the hospital’s negligence.
Dr. Hetal Kyada Promises Strict Action After Reviewing CCTV Footage
In response to the incident, Dr. Hetal Kyada, the Additional Civil Superintendent of the hospital, stated that the patient, named Manoj, was admitted to the Civil Hospital under an MLC (Medico-Legal Case). The hospital recorded that the patient, admitted in Ward No. 2, had left the ward.
Dr. Kyada emphasized that the truth of how the patient managed to leave the ward would be determined by reviewing CCTV footage. Once the facts are clear, strict action will be taken against anyone found responsible, without any hesitation, in accordance with hospital rules.
