Gas Cylinder Blast in Odhav Factory: Hand Separated, Godown Shutter Flies Open, Disturbing Body Found

A blast at a godown in Arihant Industrial Estate, Odhav, Ahmedabad, caused a major fire. Fire brigade teams quickly dispatched five vehicles to the scene. Tragically, the godown owner and a worker died on the spot, while three others were injured and rushed to a nearby hospital. 

The blast was so powerful it destroyed the godown and caused significant damage. The factory, named Bansi Powder Coating, used commercial gas cylinders in its compressor, which exploded due to pressure buildup.

A devastating blast at a godown in Arihant Industrial Estate, Odhav, Ahmedabad, caused a major fire. Fire brigade teams promptly dispatched five vehicles to the site. The godown owner, Ramesh Patel (50), and a worker, Pawan Kumar (25), died on the spot. 

Three others, Surpal Singh (18), Vasudev Patel (22), Kanubhai, and Sahadev, were injured and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The blast, triggered by a commercial gas cylinder explosion in a compressor, caused extensive damage to the facility.

Emergency Response to Blast and Fire at Arihant Industrial Estate in Ahmedabad

Four individuals were urgently taken for medical treatment following a blast at Bansi Powder Coating in Arihant Industrial Estate, Odhav, Ahmedabad. 

The fire brigade control room received a message about the explosion and subsequent fire in the godown located in the lane near Shabri Hotel on Ring Road. Promptly, five fire brigade vehicles and ambulances were dispatched to the scene to manage the emergency.

Fire brigade officers and staff managed to control the fire at Bansi Powder Coating in Arihant Industrial Estate, Odhav, Ahmedabad, using water jets. Upon arrival, they found two individuals dead at the scene due to severe injuries from the blast. Two others were injured by the fire and were immediately taken to the hospital via ambulance for treatment.

On June 24, 2024, at 13:12, a blast occurred at Shed No. 75 in Bansi Powder Coating, Arihant Industrial Estate, Ahmedabad. Five fire teams were dispatched for fire fighting and search operations. Owner Ramesh Patel (50) and worker Pavan Kumar (25) were declared dead at the scene. 

Ramesh Patel’s son, Vasudev, was injured and taken to the hospital. Neighboring shed owner Dungarsinh Rajput and worker Surplus Thakor (22) were also injured and hospitalized. Shed No. 76 of Akash Industries sustained severe structural damage, but no injuries were reported.

Fire Brigade Conducts Search Operation at Arihant Industrial Estate Blast Site

During the search operation at the blast site in Arihant Industrial Estate, five fire brigade teams were involved, with a total of 11 vehicles. The operation included the participation of the CFO, ACFO, DFO, STO, SFO, LFM, 11 DCOs, and 18 firemen. Two casualties were handed over to the police, and three injured individuals were transported to a nearby hospital via 108 ambulances and private vehicles.
