Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Reflections on the Inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Reflections on the Inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking from the courtyard of Ayodhya, expressed a profound sentiment, stating, I have witnessed the divine consciousness emanating from the sanctum sanctorum. It is challenging to articulate in words, as the experience resonates within the soul. Our beloved Ram Lalla will no longer reside in a temporary structure; instead, he will find his abode in the grand Ram Mandir. I believe that what has transpired here will instill unwavering faith in the hearts of Ram devotees.

This moment is sacred, transcending the ordinary and marking the beginning of a new era. The sunrise on January 22, 2024, is not just a celestial event but signifies the commencement of a new epoch. Today is not merely a date but a historical juncture that people will discuss for a thousand years. The magnificent Ram Mandir stands as a symbol of divine completeness, encompassing directions and dimensions. This time is extraordinary, marked by the indelible imprints of an eternal memory. As Lord Ram’s work unfolds, the divine presence of Hanuman graces the surroundings. Today, I seek forgiveness from Lord Ram. Our sacrifices and penance may have fallen short, given the magnitude of this moment.

However, I am confident that Lord Ram will bestow his forgiveness. In Treta Yuga, after witnessing Lord Ram’s return, Sant Tulsidas wrote that Ayodhya residents, citizens of the country, endured a long separation but emerged unscathed. That separation lasted 14 years, and now, in this era, Ayodhya and the people of the country have withstood centuries of separation. Generations have endured this separation. The Constitution of India now features an image of Lord Ram for the first time, and as a nation, we have endured generations of this separation. Lord Ram’s presence in the Constitution led to a legal battle that has finally culminated in the construction of a grand temple, symbolizing justice. Today, we witness the radiance of diyas illuminating every home, and Diwali will resonate across the nation once again.

Spiritual Journey to the Panchvati Dham: Rediscovering Unity and Sacredness

In this transformative period, I found myself drawn to Dhanushkodi, sensing that the changing times mirror the cyclical nature of existence. Embarking on a spiritual pilgrimage, I visited the Panchvati Dham, encompassing Nashik, Lepakshi, Sri Ranganatha Swamy Temple, and Rameswaram. Over the course of 11 days, I undertook a fast, traversing the sacred route from the Sagar to the Sarayu.

At every juncture, the enthusiasm for the name of Lord Ram resonated, reflecting the profound connection that Ram holds within the hearts of Bharatvasis. Ram, the embodiment of unity, gracefully resides in the innermost recesses of every Indian’s soul. Touching someone’s inner self anywhere in India will foster a sense of unity, creating a bond that transcends all worldly barriers. This experience, akin to a sacred thread, binds us all in a shared spiritual journey, elevating us beyond the ordinary and underscoring the essence of oneness.

Ram Mandir: A Symbol of Unity and Spiritual Awakening

The opportunity to listen to the Ramayana in various languages across the country has been a moment of significance for me. As sages defined Lord Ram, “Ramante yasmin iti ramah,” meaning the one in whom all find delight, the Ramayana has resonated through the ages. The festival of Ram holds a special place in the hearts of countless devotees, sevaks, and revered saints. Today is not just a celebration; it marks the mature consciousness of Indian society. This occasion is not only a moment of victory but also one of humility. Many nations have encountered complexities in their histories. To emerge from them is challenging, but it demonstrates the seriousness and emotional depth of our society.

This moment signifies not just triumph but also a moment of reflection on the maturity of Indian society. This event demonstrates that our nation, with its seriousness and emotional depth, has opened itself to a future that is bound to be brighter. Some may say that the construction of the Ram Mandir will ignite a fire, but this event reveals that our country, which has faced challenges in its history, is now showcasing its depth of seriousness and emotion, indicating that we are heading towards a brighter future.

The construction of the Ram Mandir is not just about victory; it is about humility as well. It reflects the unparalleled devotion of Ram devotees and the infinite nature of the Ramayana. Today, our nation stands as a witness to countless Ram devotees, sevaks, and saints who are indebted to this occasion. The Ram Mandir is not merely a symbol of victory; it is a symbol of harmony. The dedication to this project is not just a physical construction but the manifestation of energy. The Ramayana is boundless, and so is the Ram Mandir. Today, our country is witnessing a moment where the Ram Mandir is not just an issue of the present, but a timeless symbol that extends beyond the boundaries of time.

Ram Mandir: A Beacon of Faith, Values, and National Consciousness

The significance of Lord Ram extends beyond the physical manifestation of idols in temples; it represents unwavering faith and cherished ideals. The Ram Mandir is not merely a place of worship; it is the temple of India’s spirit, embodying the consciousness of the nation. Lord Ram’s virtues resonate with the core values of India, and the Ram Mandir is a testament to the collective consciousness of the nation.

Today, as divine blessings are sought from the gods and goddesses, it marks the beginning of a new era. I feel a profound shift in the cosmic order—a change that our generation has embraced. The time has come for us to embrace the ideals of Lord Ram, not just for a few years but for a thousand years and beyond. The Ram Mandir is not just a temple; it is a symbol of national dedication and selflessness. Lord Ram is not confined to a particular time; his influence transcends generations.

The construction of the Ram Mandir is not only a physical endeavor but also a spiritual and symbolic one. It signifies the expansion of the nation’s consciousness through the divine principles of Lord Ram. As the poet Kalidasa beautifully expresses, “Ram is the soul of Bharat,” emphasizing that Ram is not just an individual but the essence of the nation.

The present moment is a confluence of timeless values, and the dedication of the Ram Mandir is an opportunity for introspection and renewal. Lord Ram’s teachings encapsulate the essence of righteous living, and this puja is an affirmation of our commitment to those principles. As we bow to Lord Ram, we pledge to uphold the values of righteousness, duty, and universal compassion.

The construction of the Ram Mandir is not merely a culmination but a new beginning. It is an opportunity for the youth of India to lead the nation towards a glorious future. The era of the Ram Mandir marks the dawn of a new India, vibrant, developed, and spiritually evolved. It is a call for the youth to be the driving force in the nation’s progress.

The Ram Mandir stands as a symbol of success and accomplishment. It is a beacon of India’s rise, and its grandeur will inspire generations to come. The call of Lord Ram is not a call to stagnate but a call to move forward. As we witness the grandeur of the Ram Mandir, let us not only celebrate but also commit ourselves to the path of progress and growth. The time is now, and India shall continue to move forward with unwavering determination.

Mohan Bhagwat’s Call for Tapasya and National Transformation

RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat recently spoke about the profound significance of the present times, drawing parallels between Lord Ram’s return to Ayodhya and the current resurgence of Bharat’s self-esteem. He emphasized that India, which was once in distress, is now emerging victorious, and a sense of Ram Rajya is prevailing across the nation. Bhagwat also acknowledged Prime Minister Modi’s 11-day intense tapasya (austerity) in Ayodhya and reflected on the historical importance of Lord Ram’s return to Ayodhya.

Bhagwat mentioned that although Lord Ram has returned to Ayodhya, it is essential to understand why he ventured outside the city limits. Ayodhya has always been a place of peace, devoid of conflicts. Bhagwat commended Prime Minister Modi’s dedication and mentioned that after his tapasya, it is now the citizens’ turn to engage in self-discipline and commitment.

Bhagwat envisioned a society where conflicts are resolved, similar to the era of Ayodhya, where the citizens were spiritually enlightened. He reiterated the need for adhering to discipline, both in personal and family life. Drawing inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagwat emphasized that true patriotism lies in practicing self-discipline and upholding the values of the nation.

Today marks a day filled with gratitude, not only for the nation but for the entire world, as it witnesses an extraordinary moment. The consecration of this idol is not merely a statue; it represents the pride of the nation’s self-esteem. For years, the nation has been anticipating this moment. Only a fortunate nation, indeed the entire world, can celebrate the fortune of having a visionary leader. It is a matter of wonder that we have acquired a statesman as our leader. To hear from him the principles that guide the establishment of one’s life force is truly enlightening.

The path to attaining self-discipline for the sake of one’s life force is commendable. We find merit in adopting such principles. A three-day fast is considered a commendable feat, but to hear that he has successfully completed an 11-day fast is truly astounding.

It is noteworthy that Govind Dev Giri ji Maharaj undertook an 11-day fast and concluded it by performing rituals and offering prayers. Such a spiritual trailblazer, by practicing what he preaches, sets an example for all his followers. The commitment to complete an 11-day fast signifies not just physical endurance but also a profound spiritual journey.
