Shocking Murder in Ahmedabad: NRI Land Broker Found Dead in Bopal’s Garodiya Village, Family Tracked Mobile to Crime Scene

Just five days after the murder of MICA student Priyanshu Jain in Ahmedabad’s Bopal area, another shocking murder case has come to light. This time, the body of a senior citizen was discovered in a mutilated state near the outskirts of Garodiya village, close to Bopal.

The deceased, a 65-year-old land broker, left his home at night, informing his family that he would return soon. When he did not return or respond, his wife informed their children living in the United States about his disappearance. Using the tracking feature of his iPhone, their children traced his location.

The family arrived at the location around 9:00 AM the next morning, where they found the body of Deepak Patel. Bopal police have registered a murder case and initiated an investigation into the incident.

Senior Citizen Murdered in Bopal: Victim Recently Returned from the U.S.

According to police sources, the mutilated body of 65-year-old Deepak Dashrathbhai Patel was discovered this morning near the outskirts of Garodiya village, close to Bopal. Upon receiving the information, Bopal police reached the spot and called in the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team to gather evidence.

Deepak Patel, who was engaged in land brokerage after his retirement, frequently traveled abroad. He had recently returned to India for the festive season. The gruesome murder, carried out by repeatedly striking him with a blunt object, has left the entire area in shock and raised serious concerns about safety in the region.

Family Tracked Victim’s Phone After Losing Contact

Around 12:00 PM yesterday, Deepak Patel informed his wife that he was going out with a friend and would return home later in the evening. 

However, by late night, he had not returned, and his wife was unable to reach him despite several attempts. Worried, she informed their children, who live abroad. Using his phone’s tracking feature, they were able to trace his location.

Family Reaches Location Based on Phone Tracking: Victim Found Dead

After tracing the location of Deepak Patel’s iPhone, his children, who reside in the U.S., discovered that it pointed to the outskirts of Garodiya village near Bopal. 

Following the phone’s location, his family reached the area, where they found Deepak’s body, mutilated and lying on the ground.

Locals Demand Increased Police Patrolling After Another Murder in Bopal

After the murder came to light, Bopal police reached the scene, and an FSL team was called to collect evidence. The police have registered a murder case and have started efforts to apprehend any suspects. 

In the wake of this second murder in the Bopal area, locals have raised demands for increased police patrolling, particularly in the more remote areas near Bopal, to ensure safety and prevent further incidents.
