Mumbai: 21-Year-Old Allegedly Raped by Instagram Friend During Night Out, Accused Remains at Large

A 21-year-old woman residing in Mumbai has accused an Instagram friend of rape. The victim alleges that the accused administered intoxicating substances and assaulted her. According to NDTV, the woman has filed a First Information Report (FIR) at the Worli Police Station in South Mumbai. The police are currently investigating the matter. However, despite 12 days having elapsed since the incident, no arrests have been made, as per the victim’s statement.

Instagram Post Narrates Victim’s Ordeal: Alleged Assault During Night Out

The victim, in an Instagram post, recounted her harrowing experience involving Hitesh Shah, an acquaintance from the platform. She detailed how she went for a night out with Hitesh, accompanied by his friends. Upon gathering at a location, they indulged in a drinking session. Shortly thereafter, she began feeling intoxicated. Despite her resistance, Hitesh and his friends coerced her into consuming more alcohol, resulting in a blackout. 

Subsequently, she lost consciousness, unable to recall subsequent events. When she regained awareness, she found herself being forcefully assaulted by the accused. Despite her attempts to resist, he physically assaulted her. The entire incident transpired at the residence of Hitesh’s friend. Following the ordeal, she called her cousin brother for assistance and returned home.

However, the accused sought forgiveness the next day for his actions, yet the apology holds no significance for her. He remains at large after securing anticipatory bail. Despite 12 days having passed since the incident, no arrest has been made in connection with the allegations.
