From 1994 to 2004, Friends was broadcast for ten years, and Matthew Perry played the iconic character of Chandler Bing. This role earned him a lot of popularity, and he received an Emmy nomination for it in 2002. Apart from Friends, Matthew Perry also appeared in Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Go On, and The Odd Couple. He was nominated for an Emmy twice in 2003 and 2004 for his role in The West Wing.

He also stated in his autobiography that he was afraid to live because he was scared of sobriety, as he had tied his existence to his addiction for so long. In his own words, he said, “I’ve thought if I die, nobody will be sober.” His struggle was significant and well-documented.
