Contract Teacher Caught in Mahisagar School: Principal and SMC Chairman Offer Conflicting Statements

An incident has surfaced from the Tanachhiya Primary School in Mahisagar’s Lunawada district, where a substitute teacher was found teaching students in place of an appointed teacher. The matter gained attention after it was revealed that a woman from the village had been conducting classes without official approval.

Principal Claims Free Service with SMC Approval

Mukesh Patel, the principal of the school, stated that the woman, identified as Jinalben Patel, had been teaching voluntarily with the approval of the School Management Committee (SMC). He added that she had been coming for the past 20-25 days purely out of interest in teaching, and her service was honorary.

SMC Chairman Denies Any Resolution

Contradicting the principal’s statement, SMC Chairman Girishbhai Patel clarified that no such resolution had been passed, nor was any formal approval given for the substitute teacher to teach. He further mentioned that the principal regularly attended the school as per protocol.

Education Officer Promises Investigation

Rajesh Patel, the in-charge Taluka Primary Education Officer, stated that he learned about the incident through media reports and assured a thorough investigation. He confirmed that no official request or approval had been received for a substitute teacher at the school.

Teacher Responds to Allegations

Jinalben Patel, the substitute teacher, explained that she holds a B.A. and M.A. degree and was attending the school voluntarily to gain teaching experience. She mentioned that her presence was recommended by the village sarpanch and SMC members, and she did not receive any salary for her services.

Principal Denies All Allegations

Principal Mukesh Patel refuted all accusations, reiterating that Jinalben was allowed to teach based on SMC suggestions and that he had planned to inform the authorities. The matter now awaits a detailed investigation by the education department.
