Police Raid in Kutch’s Galpadar Jail: Six Inmates Caught Drinking, Mobiles and Liquor Bottles Seized
Surprise Checking at Galpadar Jail by East Kutch Police
East Kutch Police conducted a surprise check at the Galpadar District Jail in Kutch, where six inmates were found intoxicated. Additionally, liquor bottles, mobile phones, and cash were recovered from the site. The live visuals of this police raid have caused a stir in the entire region. Notably, bootlegger Yuvrajsinh Rajendrasinh Jadeja, who was recently caught with a lady constable, was also found intoxicated in this jail.
Police Surprise Checking at Galpadar Jail East Kutch District Police conducted a surprise inspection at Galpadar District Jail last night. Six inmates were found in an intoxicated state, and illegal mobile phones and cash were recovered. The police have registered a case under the Prohibition Act and have initiated legal action against the inmates. It is noteworthy that under the instructions and guidance of Police Inspector General Chirag Kordiya, Border Range, Kutch-Bhuj, the operation was led by Superintendent of Police Sagar Bagmar, East Kutch, Gandhidham. Various teams were formed from LCB, SOG, Gandhidham A Division, Gandhidham B Division, and Adipur Police Station to carry out a surprise check in different barracks of Galpadar District Jail during the night.
Six Inmates Caught Intoxicated During this surprise checking, inmates were found in an intoxicated state and using mobile phones in the barracks. Additionally, cash amounting to ₹50,000 was recovered from them. On the roof of the jail’s high-security barrack, 100 notes of ₹500 each, totaling ₹50,000, and one charger worth ₹100 were found. All seized items have been confiscated, and appropriate legal action has been taken against the inmates.
Four Mobile Phones and Liquor Bottles Found in Barracks According to police information, the following individuals were found intoxicated in the barracks:
- Manoj alias Pakado Kanjibhai Matang (Age 28, resident of Juni Sundarpuri, Gandhidham)
- Rohit Govindbhai Garva (Maharaj) (Age 30, resident of Cargo Jhupda, Bapa Sitaramnagar, Gandhidham)
- Shivbhadrasinh Sukhdevsinh Jadeja (Age 32, resident of Navi Moti Chirai, Taluka Bhachau)
- Govindbhai Harjibhai Maheshwari (Age 27, resident of Maheshwarinagar, Gandhidham)
- Yuvrajsinh Rajendrasinh Jadeja (Age 30, resident of Juni Moti Chirai, Taluka Gandhidham)
- Rohitsang alias Sonu Ramprasad Thakur (Age 27, resident of Darshanagar Society, Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh)
All these inmates (currently residing in Male Yard, Barrack No. 1, Galpadar Jail, Gandhidham) were caught in an intoxicated state. Separate cases have been filed against them under Prohibition Section 66(1)(B) for consuming alcohol.
Liquor Bottles, Mobile Phones, and Cash Found on Site During the surprise checking, the following inmates were found with mobile phones:
- Yuvrajsinh Rajendrasinh Jadeja (Age 30, resident of Juni Moti Chirai, Taluka Gandhidham)
- Surajit Devising Pardeshi (Age 39, resident of Mundhwa, Keshavnagar, Taluka Mundhwa, District Pune, Maharashtra)
- Razak alias Sopari Daudbhai Chavda (Age 48, resident of Panchvati, behind View Milan Hotel, Jamnagar)
- Hitendrasinh alias Hitubha Karansinh Zala (Age 42, resident of Shakt Shanala, Taluka Morbi)
Separate cases have been filed against these four inmates under Prisoner Act Sections 42, 43, and 45.
Goods Worth ₹1,49,700 Seized During the operation, the police seized the following items: a plastic water bottle, a bottle of Indian-made foreign liquor, a black iPhone worth ₹10,000, an Android Galaxy A05 mobile phone worth ₹5,000, an iPhone 15 Pro MAX model worth ₹75,000, a basic keypad mobile phone worth ₹500, and ₹50,000 in cash. The total value of the seized items amounts to ₹1,49,700.
Cases Registered and Action Initiated Following this operation, a total of seven cases have been registered under the Prohibition Act. Six cases were filed for consuming alcohol and one for possessing foreign liquor. Additionally, separate cases have been registered for the illegal use of mobile phones and possession of cash inside the jail.
Five Jail Officials Suspended, Including Superintendent During the surprise check conducted by the East Kutch Police Department at Galpadar District Jail, six inmates were found intoxicated, and mobile phones, liquor bottles, and other items were seized. Legal complaints were registered accordingly. As a result of this incident, five jail staff members, including the in-charge superintendent, have been suspended from duty.
