Fake Certificates from Gujarat Kabaddi Association Under Scrutiny

While millions of educated unemployed individuals in Gujarat are struggling to find jobs, a scandal involving the recruitment of teachers based on fake documents has come to light. Allegations have surfaced that in 2010, 141 Vidya Sahayaks were recruited in Kheda district, out of which 23 candidates secured jobs without even submitting an application.

These candidates reportedly used fake physical disability certificates to obtain the positions. Additionally, in the general stream PTC assistant category, 67 candidates were recruited instead of the sanctioned 63.

Exploitation of Gujarat Kabaddi Association Certificates amid Rising Demand for Sports Marks

In 2008, sports marks were considered in merit, leading to a surge in demand for sports certificates. While crores are being spent under initiatives like Khelo India and “Ramse Gujarat, Jeetse Gujarat,” Gujarat Kabaddi Association certificates have been widely misused for fraudulent recruitment.

84 Teachers Found with Fraudulent Gujarat Kabaddi Association Certificates

Upon verification, 84 teachers were found to have used fake certificates from the Gujarat Kabaddi Association. As a result, the Jamnagar administration dismissed these teachers. Similarly, in Vadodara, 33 teachers were terminated from their jobs.

Currently, in Kheda district, 32 candidates have secured government teaching positions and are drawing salaries using these fraudulent certificates from the Gujarat Kabaddi Association.

Over-Recruitment of 87 Teachers Sparks Calls for Investigation into Fraudulent Hiring

In 2008, a plan was made to recruit 257 teachers, but 64 additional teachers were hired beyond the sanctioned number. Similarly, in 2010, 141 teachers were to be recruited, yet 23 extra teachers were appointed, leading to a total of 87 over-recruited teachers.

This has raised demands for an impartial investigation. If thoroughly examined, the recruitment scandal involving fraudulent certificates may be systematically exposed.
