Karnataka Sex Scandal: H D Revanna and Prajwal Issued Notice; SIT to Probe Allegations against Leaders for Sexual Assault

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has sent notices to former Chief Minister HD Deve Gowda’s son HD Revanna and MP Prajwal Revanna, accused in the Karnataka sex scandal case. According to media reports, both have been asked to appear before the SIT for interrogation. However, the date for appearance has not been announced yet.

FIR registered against politicians for sexual harassment

Both politicians have been charged with sexual harassment against women. The case was registered at the Holenarasipura Police Station. More than 200 videos of Prajwal have gone viral. It is alleged that women seen in the viral videos are crying and pleading for protection while Prajwal was shooting the video.

CM Siddaramaiah forms SIT to investigate the case

The investigation of this case has been assigned to the SIT by Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah. It is led by ADGP Vijay Singh. DG CID Suman D Pennekar and IPS Sima Latkar are also part of the SIT.

Prajwal suspended from party

Former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy and Prajwal Revanna attended a meeting of the Janata Dal (Secular) Core Committee in Bengaluru on Tuesday. In which Prajwal Revanna was suspended from the party. Prajwal Hassan is also a present Member of Parliament and a Lok Sabha candidate. Hassan voted in the second phase on April 26. After this, Prajwal went to Germany.

Amit Shah: Stern action will be taken against Prajwal

Responding to questions about Prajwal, Home Minister Amit Shah said in Guwahati on Tuesday, “BJP is with women power. Let this investigation proceed. The JD(S) party has suspended Prajwal. Tough action will be taken against him.” Karnataka BJP President Vijayendra Yeddyurappa also said that the BJP’s stance is clear. No political party will support this matter.

Victimized women speak out – We hid in fear of Prajwal

Women filing FIRs against Revanna and Prajwal say that it involves Revanna’s wife Bhavani. The allegation is that within just four months of hiring her as a maid, Revanna started harassing her. Whenever his wife went out, Revanna would call someone to the room and touch them inappropriately.

Fear of Prajwal was so much that we hid in the store

Women said that their and their family’s lives are in danger. The police have registered a case under sections 354A, 354D, 506, 509 based on the complaint of the victim. Revanna and Prajwal have been accused of sexual harassment from 2019 to 2022.

Former driver of Prajwal Revanna, Kartik, and BJP leader Jee Devraj Gowda have accused each other of leaking indecent videos. In one video message, Kartik said he has been working with Prajwal for the last 15 years. He left the job last year. Kartik said Prajwal was harassing his wife. I was also surprised. After this, I quit my job and started fighting to get my land back. Kartik went to Jee Devraj Gowda too. Devraj was a BJP candidate in the 2023 Assembly elections. And he lost to Revanna. Kartik had promised to remove the stigma from the photo-video and took its copy and made it viral. Devraj denied the allegations, saying that Kartik was having an affair with the Congress candidate Shreyas Patel. JDS or BJP will not release this video because it will benefit the NDA candidate and harm the Congress. Devraj said that Congress candidate Shreyas Patel was having an affair with Prajwal Hassan for his benefit.
