Karnataka’s Largest Sex Scandal: Ex-PM Deve Gowda’s Grandson Allegedly Involved in Multiple Cases
Former Chief Minister HD Deve Gowda’s family is embroiled in a sex scandal. HD Revanna (67), the son of Deve Gowda and a member of the legislative assembly, and his grandson Prajwal Revanna (33) have been accused of sexually assaulting their domestic helper. The complaint has been lodged at the Holenarasipura police station in Hassan.
Prajwal’s videos, which are viral, show women crying and pleading to be released, while Prajwal is seen shooting the video.
Nagalakshmi Chaudhary, Chairperson of the Karnataka State Women’s Commission, has termed it as the state’s biggest sex scandal. Meanwhile, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by ADGP Vikash Kumar Singh to probe into the matter.
DIG Suman D Pennekar and IPS officer Seema Latkar are also part of this investigation. They have initiated the probe into the case.
The Chairperson of the Women’s Commission said, “The videos are so obscene that I cannot watch them, nor can I describe them.”
The Chairperson of the Karnataka State Women’s Commission stated, “It has come to my notice that there are hundreds of sexual assault victim videos on pen drives. These videos include women from the families of officials and employees, party workers, and other women. Viral videos have been circulating widely in Hassan for the past week.”
“Working with the Karnataka State Women’s Rights Commission, three organizations have lodged complaints with me since April 25. The videos are so obscene that I couldn’t watch or describe them. I provided this information to the CM on the same day.”
“One victim told me that it became difficult for her (Revanna) to work at his home. Now she has quit her job, but she is worried about her safety after the video went viral. After the video went viral, the victim’s privacy was also compromised, so we immediately took action to ensure her safety.”
“I wrote a letter to the CM and the DGP to form an SIT for investigation. Only five people can be trusted, and we will fulfill our responsibility. If the SIT investigates, everything will become clear, but it is reported that the video was made three to four years ago.”
Many women have been victimized.
Allegations suggest that Prajwal Revanna has sexually harassed hundreds of women, setting a record for such actions. The purported videos surfaced before the elections and sparked discussions. Prajwal Revanna had vehemently denied the allegations and claimed that he is innocent.

Police investigation reveals that Prajwal Revanna departed from Bengaluru to Frankfurt on Saturday morning at 3:35 am via Lufthansa Airlines. It is rumored that he has hidden in another city in Europe.
Women, who have filed FIRs against Prajwal Revanna, allege that he is related to Revanna’s wife. It is alleged that within four months of being employed, Revanna began harassing her. Whenever the wife went out, Revanna would call someone into the room and behave inappropriately.
Prajwal’s fear was such that we could only express our dissatisfaction in the store. The victim alleges that Prajwal would make video calls to her daughter and engage in indecent conversations. She also claims that his actions have endangered her and her family’s lives.
The police have registered a case under sections 354A, 354D, 506, and 509 of the Indian Penal Code based on the woman’s complaint. The victim has accused Prajwal Revanna and Prajwal of sexual harassment from 2019 to 2022.
