Controversy Arises Over Celebration of Parents’ Day with Asaram’s Photo in Kaprada Taluka Schools

In three government schools of Kaprada Taluka, there was a significant controversy during the celebration of Parents’ Day with Asaram’s photo on Valentine’s Day. The dispute led to an investigation by the education department, which sought clarification from the teachers involved in the event. However, as satisfactory responses were not received, notices have been issued to 32 teachers on Wednesday, after nine months of issuing the notice.

In Valsad district, every year on Valentine’s Day, followers of Asaram organize a program to celebrate Parents’ Day in honor of Asaram and his son Naransai, who is currently in jail. During a practice session in a school affiliated with Asaram, a teacher, who is also a devotee of Asaram, reportedly rebuked another teacher in the teachers’ union meeting for not showing enthusiasm towards Asaram Bapu. This led to a heated argument, and the teacher who is a follower of Asaram was honored during the Parents’ Day celebration by putting up Asaram’s photo. As part of the program, students were instructed to attend school with their parents and worship their mothers and fathers. The teacher, who is a devotee of Asaram, allegedly put Asaram’s photo and performed rituals during the Parents’ Day program.

This incident caught the attention of the taluka primary education officer, who initiated an inquiry and found that the teacher, in accordance with the orders of Acharya Asaram, had arranged for the Parents’ Day program with Asaram’s photo. The investigation revealed that during the Parents’ Day program, students worshipped their mothers and fathers with Asaram’s photo. In light of these findings, notices have been issued to 32 teachers, and the investigation into the celebration is ongoing.
