JEE Advanced 2025 Result Announced: Rajit Gupta Tops Nationwide with 332 Marks; 1.82 Lakh Students Appeared for the Exam
The results of JEE Advanced 2025 have been declared, and Rajit Gupta from Kota has emerged as the All India Rank 1 holder, scoring 332 out of 360 marks. This year, 1.82 lakh students appeared for the JEE Advanced examination across India.
Admission Process to Begin for IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs
Students who have cleared JEE Advanced will now move on to the counseling phase for admissions into prestigious institutions such as IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. Through the JoSAA counseling process, eligible students will be allotted seats in the respective institutions based on their ranks and preferences.
Exam Conducted on May 18, 2025 by IIT Kanpur
The JEE Advanced 2025 exam was conducted by IIT Kanpur on Sunday, May 18, 2025, for admissions to 23 Indian Institutes of Technology. Out of the 14.85 lakh students who passed JEE Main, around 2.5 lakh students qualified to appear for the JEE Advanced exam.
Students scoring 140 marks or above across the two papers are likely to gain admission into top IITs.

Admissions Open for India’s 23 Prestigious IITs
Successful candidates will now be eligible for admission in any of the following 23 IITs across India:
- Mumbai, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Guwahati, Roorkee, Hyderabad, Patna, Bhubaneswar, Ropar, Jodhpur, Gandhinagar, Indore, Mandi, Varanasi, Tirupati, Palakkad, Goa, Jammu, Dharwad, Dhanbad, Bhilai.
Exam Pattern Prepared by IIT Kanpur
Each year, a different IIT is responsible for preparing the exam pattern. In 2025, this responsibility was given to IIT Kanpur. JEE Advanced is known as one of the toughest exams in the world, testing students in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
The exam was conducted in two sessions:
- Paper 1: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Paper 2: 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM
The exam was computer-based.
Paper Structure and Marking System
- Each paper contains 54 questions: 18 from Physics, 18 from Chemistry, and 18 from Mathematics.
- Total of 108 questions carrying 360 marks.

Sharp Rise in Exam Participation This Year
Compared to last year, where only 1.45 lakh students had registered, the number increased significantly in 2025 to 1.82 lakh students, indicating a rise in competition and interest.
