Extensive Preparations for Janmashtami at ISKCON Temple Ahmedabad, 900 Kilograms of Flowers Imported from Thailand

The ISKCON Temple in Ahmedabad is bustling with preparations for Janmashtami. To decorate the temple, 900 kilograms of flowers have been imported from Thailand, including special flowers from Vrindavan for the deity. 

The chief priest of the temple stated, “Over seven lakh rupees have been spent on the decorations.” Meanwhile, the ISKCON Temple in Rajkot has also begun its Janmashtami celebrations today, with the temple and its surroundings adorned with flowers and lights.

Over Seven Lakhs Spent on Decorations for Janmashtami

The chief priest of the ISKCON Temple, Chitrak Dasji, mentioned, “For the past two months, we have been preparing the decorations for the deity. The work includes both diamond embellishments and zardosi embroidery. 

Beautiful garments, crowns, large necklaces, waistbands, and chokers have been designed for the deity. The total expenditure for these decorations has exceeded seven lakh rupees.”

Over 600 Dishes to be Offered During Annakut on Janmashtami

On Janmashtami, the deity will be adorned beautifully. Aarti will be performed, and a grand abhishek (ritual bath) will be conducted using panchgavya, saffron, Gangajal, panchamrit, and fruit juices. During this time, over 600 different dishes will be offered as part of the Annakut (a grand feast).

Temple Decorated with Animal and Bird Themes

Lord Krishna had a great affection for animals and birds, alongside his love for the forest. In honor of this, the entire temple and its surroundings will be decorated with a theme centered around animals and birds.

ISKCON Temple in Rajkot Adorned with Flowers and Lights for Janmashtami

The ISKCON Temple in Rajkot has begun its Janmashtami celebrations today, with the temple and its surroundings beautifully decorated with flowers and lights. Garments and decorations for the deity have been imported from Vrindavan. 

On Janmashtami day, arrangements have been made for approximately 300,000 devotees and daily 80,000 visitors to have darshan and receive prasad. The celebrations at the ISKCON Temple in Rajkot will continue until August 30.

Special Arrangements Made for Devotees at Rajkot ISKCON Temple

The head of the Rajkot ISKCON Temple, Vaishnav Seva Prabhuji, stated, “To ensure that devotees do not face any discomfort or crowd issues, a dedicated darshan path has been set up in the temple. 

The temple also offers spiritual activities for children, such as Prahlad Sunday Children’s Classes, and provides spiritual development programs for youth through the ISKCON Youth Forum and for women through the Radha Rani Sabha.”

Janmashtami Program Schedule for Deity Darshan

On Janmashtami day, devotees will have the opportunity for darshan and participate in melodious kirtans throughout the day. The program will begin with Mangal Aarti at 4:30 AM. 

This will be followed by Shringar Darshan at 9:30 AM, and the deity will be offered Chappan Bhog (56 varieties of food) at 10:00 AM. At 11:00 AM, Vaishnav Seva Prabhuji will deliver a discourse on the pastimes of Lord Krishna. 

The abhishek (ritual bath) of the deity will start at 10:00 PM, and the celebration of Lord Krishna’s birth will take place at midnight.
