Radhe Group, Trogon Group, and Dharti Saket Group, which are based in Mehsana but operate large-scale businesses in Ahmedabad, were raided by Income Tax officials at 34 locations across the state early this morning. Over 170 officers conducted searches in Ahmedabad, Mehsana, Morbi, Himmatnagar, and Gandhinagar, with the expectation of uncovering tax evasion amounting to crores of rupees.
Income Tax Raids on Directors and Partners of Multiple Groups in Gujarat
Sources have revealed that Mahendrakumar Rewabhai Patel, the director of Dharti Saket Group, is also linked with other groups. Due to the higher number of business locations in Ahmedabad, search operations were carried out at 25 places across the city. The Income Tax department conducted raids at 34 locations statewide, with more than 170 officers involved.
Raids were carried out at the offices, residences, and establishments of the directors and partners of Mehsana-based Radhe Group, Trogon Group, and Dharti Saket Group. The search also extended to the Soham Paper Mill and Tirthak Paper Mill in Morbi, which are connected to the groups. Both mills are owned by Jivrajbhai Fulthariya, who operates under both brands. Complaints of large-scale tax evasion were reported, prompting these investigations.
Income Tax Raids Reveal Crores in Financial Irregularities, Cash, and Jewelry
Initial investigations have revealed significant financial discrepancies amounting to crores of rupees. A large quantity of suspicious documents, digital devices, and some rough notes were discovered during the raids. The search also uncovered a disparity of crores of rupees in the accounts. Officials found cash and jewelry during the operation, indicating possible financial misconduct.
Income Tax Raids at Trogon Group Office and Paper Mills in Morbi, Involvement of Political Figure
Officials are currently auditing the accounts at the Trogon Group office near Vaishnodevi Circle. A connection between the builder from Mehsana and Morbi has come to light, leading to Income Tax raids at Tirthak Paper and Soham Coal in Morbi.
The owner of these companies, Jivrajbhai Fulthariya, is the brother-in-law of former MP Mohan Kundariya. According to standard procedure, external individuals are not allowed during an Income Tax raid, but Mohanbhai Kundariya reportedly entered the premises during the investigation, which has sparked controversy.
