Lord Ganesha’s Image on Footwear and Swimwear
According to Prem Kumar Raj, a member of the Hindu American Foundation, Walmart was selling products featuring images of Lord Ganesha on items such as slippers and swimsuits through its website. These items were listed by a company named “Chaps.”
Raj demanded an apology from Walmart and insisted that the sale of such products be immediately halted. He emphasized that Lord Ganesha is revered worldwide as the “Remover of Obstacles” by over a billion devotees, and using his image on such items deeply hurts religious sentiments.
