Missing Hemant Soren Reaches Ranchi After 31 Hours: Faces Accusations of ₹74 Crore Scam, Only Rewarded ₹11,000!
Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, has departed from his residence amidst investigations into land encroachments. He is reported to be en route to meet his father, Shibu Soren, in Morahabadi. On January 27, they arrived in Delhi via a chartered plane, where they reportedly held several meetings, after which no further updates were provided.
On January 29, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches at his Delhi residence, but Soren was not found there. The ED has seized assets worth 36 lakh rupees from Hemant Soren’s Delhi home. Additionally, two cars have been impounded.
The investigative agency also conducted searches at the peaceful abode in Delhi associated with Soren’s documents. In a late-night move, the ED seized Hemant Soren’s BMW car worth 1 crore rupees. Alongside, 36 lakh rupees in cash was recovered from Soren’s residence. The CM’s official vehicle has also been parked at Ranchi’s parking lot.

He tweeted, “We are searching for the missing Chief Minister of Jharkhand… If anyone finds this person, please immediately inform on the given address. A reward of 11,000 rupees will be given to the person providing accurate information.”
State Governor CP Radhakrishnan convened a meeting with the Home Secretary, Avinash Kumar, the Director-General of Police, Ajay Kumar, and the Chief Secretary, EL Khyangte, at Raj Bhavan. Following the meeting, all three officials departed from Raj Bhavan.

In light of the political situation, Governor CP expressed that he too is closely observing the responses of Chief Minister Hemant Soren. He emphasized that no one is above the law and that all are bound by the constitution. Such conduct from the political parties is deemed inappropriate.

ED Instructs Delhi Police to Locate Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has directed the Delhi Police to find and bring in Jharkhand’s Chief Minister, Hemant Soren. This development was reported by The Times of India on Tuesday, January 30. Hemant Soren’s whereabouts have been unknown for the past 24 hours.
On Monday, January 29, at 7:00 AM, an ED team arrived at Hemant Soren’s residence in Delhi but did not find him there. The ED has seized the BMW belonging to the Jharkhand CM. Sources from the CM’s house confirmed his absence. Meanwhile, in Ranchi, an important meeting of the Chief Minister’s residence with legislators from various political parties is underway. Hemant Soren may attend this meeting. Congress MLA Amba Prasad mentioned on the night of January 29 that the CM would be present at the gathering.
On Monday evening, a nearly two-hour-long meeting of legislators from the ruling party took place, where they were advised to stay in Ranchi. Today’s scheduled meeting holds significance as it will discuss the state’s political future. Hemant Soren has been given time to be questioned by the ED on January 31, at 1:00 PM.
