Haryana Assembly Election Rescheduled: Voting on October 5, Results on 8th

Election Date Change for Haryana Assembly: Voting Now on October 5, Results on October 8

The Election Commission has announced a change in the Haryana Assembly election date. Initially scheduled for October 1, the election will now be held on October 5, with the results being declared on October 8. This change also applies to the Jammu & Kashmir Assembly election results, which will now also be announced on October 8 instead of October 4.

Reason Behind the Date Change

The adjustment in the election date was made following a request from the National President of the All India Bishnoi Mahasabha. He highlighted that many families from Punjab, Rajasthan, and Haryana participate in an annual festival in memory of Guru Jambheshwar Ji in Bikaner district during the month of ‘Asoj.’ This year, the festival falls on October 2, and as a result, thousands of Bishnoi families from the Sirsa, Fatehabad, and Hisar regions would be traveling to Rajasthan, making it difficult for them to vote on October 1.

Impact on Bishnoi Community in 11 Constituencies

The Bishnoi community holds significant influence in several areas of Haryana. According to the community’s website, villages in Bhiwani, Hisar, Sirsa, and Fatehabad districts are dominated by the Bishnois. Their influence spans 11 assembly constituencies, which collectively hold around 150,000 votes. These constituencies include Adampur, Uklana, Nalwa, Hisar, Barwala, Fatehabad, Tohana, Sirsa, Dabwali, Ellenabad, and Loharu.
