Historic Integration: Gujarat University’s First NRI Hostel to Accommodate Foreign Students of Both Genders
Recent incidents of violence and vandalism targeting foreign students have prompted Gujarat University to take proactive measures. In response, foreign students will now be accommodated in a separate NRI hostel. This move marks the first time foreign students will be housed together in a single hostel, regardless of gender.
As a result, the ground floor of the hostel will remain vacant. This decision aims to ensure the safety and well-being of foreign students studying at Gujarat University, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to providing a secure and welcoming environment for all its students.
Gujarat University’s NRI Hostel: Modern Facilities for Enhanced Comfort
The Gujarat University campus now boasts an NRI hostel equipped with top-notch amenities. This four-story hostel comprises a total of 92 rooms, all meticulously furnished with modern conveniences. The ground floor of the hostel accommodates 12 rooms, while each of the remaining three floors houses 20 rooms apiece.
Each room is designed to accommodate four students comfortably, ensuring efficient space utilization. With the recent influx of students into the hostel, the university has also announced new guidelines to streamline hostel operations and ensure a smooth living experience for all residents.
This initiative underscores Gujarat University’s commitment to providing a conducive environment for students’ academic and personal growth.
Integration in Gujarat University’s NRI Hostel: Students from Different Floors to Coexist
In a significant move towards integration, Gujarat University’s NRI hostel will maintain 12 vacant rooms on the ground floor. This space will be reserved for visitors, such as students’ parents or acquaintances, who will be accommodated with prior permission. The first floor of the hostel will exclusively house foreign students, with 20 rooms allocated for their residence.
Meanwhile, the second and third floors will accommodate both domestic and foreign students. This marks the first time in the university’s history where students from different backgrounds will reside together in the same hostel, fostering a sense of community and cultural exchange.
