GSEB Convicts 33 for Exam Malpractice: Results Cancelled, Police Complaints Possible
The secondary and higher secondary education board examinations in Gujarat will commence on March 11th, involving more than 15 lakh students. The board is making all preparations for the exams. The board will make every effort to prevent malpractices during the exams. If any student is found involved in malpractice, the Education Department will announce it through the Education Gazette. Different types of education have been decided for different multiples of 33 in the exams. If the result of any exam is canceled, police action will be taken until the investigation is completed.
Guidelines and their consequences:
- If a student does not follow any instruction received from the administrator, inspector, or board:
- Sharing the answer scripts with two lines not adhering to the instruction provided till the response time expires, and subsequently asking the student to rewrite the answers.
- If emphasis is given, then during the examination, messages are sent to other examinees either verbally or through any signal:
- Canceling the result of the subject examination for the student.
- If a request for help is made along with scribbled notes in the answer script:
- Canceling the entire examination result of the student and not considering re-examination in any other subject.
- If a candidate attempts to lure or persuade the examiner to pass them in the examination and offers incentives or marks their answer script themselves during the answer script evaluation:
- Cancelling the result of the subject.
- If an examiner contacts the student during or after the examination to enhance grades or asks the examiner not to evaluate the script:
- Cancelling the entire examination result.
- If a candidate is found with a cap, notes, or textbooks related to the subject during the examination:
- If anything is written from the literature, the result of the examination will be canceled, and the candidate will not be allowed to appear in any other examination.
- If the subject matter is found to be communicated to the examinee from the bench during the examination, such as literature, notes, or writings:
- If anything is written from the literature, the result of the examination will be canceled, and the candidate will not be allowed to appear in any other examination.
- If the literature relevant to the answers is found in the candidate’s answer script and it is reported to the examiner:
- If it is not literature, cancel the result of one subject, and if written, cancel the results of all subjects.
- If a candidate throws out the answer booklet from the examination hall:
- Cancel the result of the entire examination.
- If a candidate or their representative tears the answer script or indulges in mischief with the literature:
- Cancel the result of the entire examination.
- If a candidate is allowed to leave the examination section for any reason without permission and meets an unauthorized person:
- Cancel the result of the subject.
- If a candidate takes the answer script out of the examination section:
- Cancel the result of the examination and not allow the candidate to appear in the subsequent two examinations.
- If a candidate or their representative attempts to change the written main answer script during the examination or after the examination:
- Cancel the result of the examination, and the candidate will not be allowed to appear in the subsequent two examinations.
- If the examiner does not provide the answer script during or after the examination:
- Cancel the result of the examination, and the candidate will not be allowed to appear in the subsequent two examinations, and a police case will be filed.
- If a candidate tries to copy any literature, paper, or any other material from another candidate during the examination:
- Cancel the results of both candidates.
- If a candidate tries to exchange the answer script with another candidate during the examination:
- Cancel the result of the entire examination.
- If it is found from the report of the examiner or deputy chief examiner that candidates are involved in theft from each other during the examination:
- Cancel the results of both candidates.
- If cheating or malpractice is detected during the examination:
- Cancel the result of the entire examination.
- If the candidate brings answers from outside and writes them in the answer script during the examination:
- Cancel the result of the entire examination, and the candidate will not be allowed to appear in the subsequent two examinations.
- If someone else appears in the examination in place of the original candidate:
- Cancel the result and not allow the candidate to appear in the subsequent two examinations, and file a police case.
- For engaging in misconduct at the examination center:
- Cancel the result of the respective subject.
- If violence or carrying lethal weapons or instruments occurs at the examination center:
- Cancel the result permanently and not allow the candidate to appear in the subsequent two examinations.
- If any candidate makes any mark for identification in the answer script:
- Cancel the result of the respective subject.
- If the candidate fills the main answer script with abusive language:
- Cancel the result of the respective subject.
- If cases of mass cheating occur in the examination hall:
- Cancel the result of the examination and do not allow the candidates to appear in the subsequent two examinations.
- If a candidate attempts to remove or tamper with the details of the sticker attached to the answer sheet:
- Cancel the result of the entire examination.
- If serious irregularities are noticed collectively by candidates at any examination center:
- Cancel the examination of the respective subject and announce the cancellation of all subsequent examinations until further notice.
- If during CCTV footage, a candidate provides non-verbal or verbal signals to another candidate:
- Cancel the result of the respective subject.
- If unauthorized literature is shown to be brought in by a candidate during CCTV footage:
- Cancel the result of the respective subject.
- If there is an exchange or sharing of unauthorized literature during CCTV footage:
- Cancel the results of both subjects involved.
- If candidates bring mobile phones or other prohibited items into the examination hall, which are noticed by invigilators or through CCTV footage:
- Cancel the result of the respective subject and do not allow the candidates to appear in the subsequent two examinations.
- If a candidate receives a message via WhatsApp, email, or social media about the leaked question paper before the examination starts:
- Cancel the result of the entire examination and do not allow the candidate to appear in the subsequent three examinations.
- If a candidate attempts to write something or gets someone to write for them during the examination:
- Cancel the result of the entire examination and do not allow the candidate to appear in the subsequent two examinations.
