Actor Govinda Linked to Rs 1,000 Cr Ponzi Scam: EOW to Investigate

The Odisha Crime Branch’s Economic Offense Wing (EOW) is set to question Bollywood actor Govinda in a short time. This is because Govinda’s name has surfaced in a cryptocurrency Ponzi scheme worth 1000 crores.

The actor was associated with a company called Solar Tech Alliance (STA). They had attended an event organized by this company.

This information was provided by the EOW on September 13th. There are allegations against STA that it was involved in cryptocurrency fraud in many countries.

The Team Will Be Coming To Mumbai For Questioning

EOW Inspector General Janardhan Pankaj said, “We will be going to Mumbai with a team to question Govinda in a short time. In this questioning, we will ask him many questions related to his association with the company. We will also inquire if he had any contact with them to participate in STA’s programs.”

Currently, Govinda is not a suspect, nor is he accused of anything related to this case. After his questioning, more details will emerge.

Govinda Promoted STA Token

As per reports, Govinda attended an event by STA in July this year. The event took place in a luxurious hotel, where Govinda was the chief guest. Besides the event, Govinda also promoted STA Token through several videos.

Investors Deposited Lakhs of Rupees

According to a report, STA Company had collected crores of rupees from depositors in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, Jharkhand, and other states without any official authorization from the Reserve Bank of India.

On August 7, the company’s India Head Gurtej Singh Siddhu and Odisha Head Nirod Das were arrested. The company’s founder David Geza is absconding. David Geza is a Hungarian citizen.

STA had collected Rs. 1000 crores from over two lakh people across the country without any official permission from the Reserve Bank of India.
