In Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Delhi, teams from the ED have launched raids at 29 locations to commence investigations. ED Raids Uncover Illegal Immigration Scheme to the USA and Canada Involving Over 5,000 Individuals
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) unearthed a significant illegal immigration racket targeting the USA and Canada, involving more than 5,000 individuals. During their investigation, the team seized incriminating evidence and offshore assets worth lakhs from the homes of the suspects and their associates. Additionally, bank accounts totaling ₹50.10 lakh have been frozen in connection with the operation.
Various documents including passports, mark sheets, two luxury buses, and unidentified individuals’ ID cards were confiscated during the raids. Preliminary inquiries suggest that the illegal immigration syndicate facilitated the entry of over 5,000 individuals into the USA and Canada through unlawful means.
Bharat, Raju, and Bhavesh Face Allegations: Gujarat Police Collaborates with ED
Allegations against Bharat Bobby, Raju Becharbhai Prajapati, and Bhavesh Patel prompted investigations by Gujarat Police in collaboration with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) from various states. For years, these individuals have been under scrutiny for their involvement in a racket that facilitated fraudulent overseas immigration.
Gujarat Police initiated inquiries against them, suspecting their roles in orchestrating the illegal transportation of people abroad using forged passports and other fabricated documents. Several individuals involved in this scheme have been apprehended both domestically and overseas, with ongoing investigations to uncover further details.
Bharat Bobby and Associates Caught in Swift Police Action
Prompted by the loss of lives due to illegal immigration in America, the police initiated a swift investigation into the matter. The State Monitoring Cell launched a rigorous inquiry into the case, swiftly targeting Bharat Patel, also known as Bobby, the alleged kingpin of the immigration racket.
During the raid, authorities discovered over 80 passports and numerous incriminating documents at his residence. Furthermore, Bharat’s accomplices, Kalpesh Patel, alias KP, and Gurmitsingh Oberoi from Delhi, were also swiftly apprehended by the State Monitoring Cell. This incident has led to the apprehension of numerous individuals involved in the case.
Gujarat Police Cracks Down on Human Trafficking Networks
The incidence of human trafficking in Gujarat has been steadily increasing, with individuals frequently resorting to illicit means to travel abroad. Concerned by the rising trend, the Crime Branch of Gujarat Police in Ahmedabad and surrounding cities initiated extensive investigations. They conducted raids targeting visa centers and career advisory centers suspected of facilitating illegal immigration.
Numerous complaints were registered by citizens, leading to several arrests. Many individuals attempting to travel overseas were intercepted, with the majority being Indians returning from France after falling victim to human trafficking networks. Investigations into these incidents are ongoing, with several agents’ names being exposed in the process.
