Dramatic Rescue Halts Trains for 3 Hours: Drunk Youth Dances Half-Naked on Surat Railway Pole

A young man from Jalgaon, Maharashtra, who arrived in Surat, climbed a high-tension line tower located between Surat Railway Station and Sahara Gate. Upon receiving a call, the fire department rushed to the scene. The power to the high-tension line was cut off, and train services were halted for three hours while the fire department successfully managed to bring the young man down. It is noteworthy that the man, under the influence of alcohol, was running and dancing on the high-tension line tower, and even removed his shirt.

Fire Department Received a Call at 2 AM 

According to the information received, the fire department got a call at 2 AM that a young man had climbed a high-tension line tower between Surat Railway Station and Sahara Gate. The fire department immediately rushed to the scene. Upon being informed, officials from Surat Railway Station, police, and RPF personnel also hurried to the site. The first action taken was to cut off the power to the high-tension line.

Persuasion to Come Down 

The fire and police teams tried to persuade the young man to come down. However, being intoxicated, he was running around and dancing on the high-tension line tower after removing his shirt. Efforts were made to convince him to come down, but he refused. Following this, an attempt was made to reach the tower using a ladder from the fire department and by positioning a train underneath.

A Fire Officer Climbed the High-Tension Line Tower 

A fire officer climbed the high-tension line tower and tried to persuade the young man to come down. However, he did not comply. As a result, the young man was forcibly brought down from the tower and was caught by fire personnel waiting below. The young man, who had thrown his money and mobile phone down, was found to be intoxicated. Additionally, stones from the railway track were found in his pockets.

The Youth Came to Surat by Train from Jalgaon, Maharashtra 

During questioning, the young man revealed that he was 35 years old and had traveled to Surat by train from Jalgaon, Maharashtra. He was handed over to the railway police with his hands tied. It is unclear why he climbed the tower, and a medical examination was conducted. No health issues were found during an examination by the 108 service.

Other Personnel Rescued Him by Bringing Him Down 

Fire Officer Mahesh Patel stated that the team arrived immediately after receiving the call. It took around three hours to bring the young man down. The man was unwilling to come down, and he also had stones in his hands. Eventually, while one side tried to persuade him using a ladder, other personnel managed to bring him down and rescue him. It also appeared that the young man might have had some mental health issues along with intoxication, as he was running and dancing on the tower. The efforts of all the fire personnel and officers were appreciated by the people present at the scene.
