Drug Mafia Busted: From Bhajiya Stall to Ice Cream Parlor, Arrest Uncovers Links with BJP Leader

Surat SOG Arrests Accused Supplying Drugs from Rajasthan, One Claims BJP and Hindu Yuva Vahini Affiliations

The Surat Special Operations Group (SOG) has arrested an accused who was supplying a consignment of drugs from Udaipur, Rajasthan to Surat. During the investigation, the police were shocked to find that one of the arrested individuals was a law student. Moreover, the accused claimed on social media to be the state head of the Hindu Yuva Vahini organization and the metropolitan coordinator for BJP Yuva Morcha. Notably, after the arrest, photos of the accused with BJP leaders went viral on social media.

SOG Acted on a Tip-Off

According to the information received, the Surat SOG got a tip-off that the accused was coming to Surat to deliver drugs from Rajasthan. Acting on this information, the police reached the scene and arrested Chetan Kishanlal Shah from his hotel with prohibited mephedrone drugs. A total of 354.910 grams of MD drugs worth Rs. 35,49,100 were seized from the accused. During interrogation, it was revealed that the recipients of the drug delivery were Anish Khan and Vikas Ahir. Based on this information, both of these accused were also arrested.

Claimed to be the State Head of Hindu Yuva Vahini

Vikas Ahir, an accused in the drug case, has always been involved in controversies. On his Facebook and social media accounts, he claimed to be the state head of the Hindu Yuva Vahini organization. Additionally, he mentioned on his Facebook account that he is the metropolitan coordinator for the BJP Yuva Morcha. It’s noteworthy that the Hindu Yuva Vahini organization, which Vikas claimed to be the state head of, was founded by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Yogi Adityanath himself dissolved all organizational units of Hindu Yuva Vahini in UP under his directives. Despite this, Vikas Ahir identified himself with Hindu Yuva Vahini and proclaimed himself a BJP leader. After Vikas Ahir’s arrest, the Congress party took the opportunity to circulate many of his photos.

Viral Photos with BJP Leaders

Currently, the photos circulating on social media show Vikas Ahir with former Union Minister of State Hansraj Ahir, BJP State President and Union Minister C. R. Patil, and Gujarat Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi. Additionally, photos with Sadhvi Prachi and Surat Police Officer Jayraj Gadhvi have gone viral. As Gujarat’s Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi discusses the campaign against drugs, the Congress party is using these photos to attack him on social media.

Identifying Those Ruining Youth

Congress leader Aslam Cyclewala stated that Vikas Ahir, who had long portrayed himself as the “Surat President of Yogi Adityanath’s organization Hindu Yuva Vahini” and actively participated in sister organizations, projecting an image of a staunch Hindu nationalist and cow protector, was caught by the Surat SOG police in the MD drugs trade. Along with him, Rehan Jamil Ansari, the son of Jamil Ansari aka Jamil Biryani (Vice President of BJP Minority Morcha-Surat), was also arrested. It is crucial to identify those who, under the guise of sister organizations and the ruling party BJP, engage in illegal activities and ruin the nation’s youth. I expect all sister organizations in Surat to demand strict action against these antisocial elements from the Police Commissioner in the interest of society. I also urge the top BJP leaders to permanently distance themselves from such antisocial elements and refrain from being photographed with them.

Investigation of the Organization

DCP Rajdeepsinh Nakum of the Special Operations Group stated that they are currently investigating which organization the accused is associated with. However, the primary concern is to find out where he was sourcing the drugs from and to whom they were supplied. The investigation will reveal the affiliations of the accused with any organization in the coming days.

Drug Mafia Adopts New Route from Rajasthan

Surat Police Commissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot stated that during interrogation, it was revealed that the accused previously sourced drugs from Mumbai-Maharashtra. However, after Surat police disrupted the supply chain from Maharashtra and arrested the suppliers and peddlers, the drug mafia adopted a new route from Rajasthan. Despite this shift, Surat police thwarted their first attempt to smuggle drugs from Rajasthan into Gujarat.

Investigation into Properties Acquired with Drug Money

He further mentioned that the accused used platforms like Snapchat and Instagram to order MD drugs from Rajasthan. They operated ice cream carts, ice cream parlors, and pan shops as fronts for drug distribution. They also delivered drugs to select customers late at night. This year, 37 drug-related cases have been registered, with over 3 crores worth of contraband seized, involving 85 individuals who have been arrested. The police will investigate the properties acquired with the proceeds from these drug sales.

Criminal History of the Accused

The first accused, Chetan Shah, originally from Rajasthan, is a third-year B.Ed student with no prior criminal record. The second accused, Anish Khan aka Anu Langdawala, has a history of serious offenses including murder and assault, with cases registered at Surat’s Katodara, Sachin, and Althan police stations. Anish Khan was previously implicated in an NDPS case and was involved in the 2017 kidnapping and murder of an individual named Talim, whose body was dumped in Dumas. He was arrested but released on bail two months ago and resumed drug peddling.

The third accused, Vikas Shankarbhai Ahir, was also arrested by the Surat SOG. Vikas has multiple serious charges, including assault, registered against him at Godadara, Salabatpura, Umra, Limbayat, and Udhna police stations. He is a second-year LLB student and was previously involved in a robbery at a builder’s office in Amroli. Following his arrest in a robbery case, his weapon license was revoked. Vikas also owns a hotel named Right Choice in Udaipur, Rajasthan.

Drugs Found at a Fritters Stall

Two days ago, Surat police received information about MD drugs being sold at a fritters stall in the Rajkamal Bakery lane near Holi Bungalow in Lal Gate area. Police conducted a raid and arrested Moinuddin Ansari and two others, seizing 125.71 grams of MD drugs worth 12.57 lakhs. Additionally, police confiscated mobile phones, weighing scales, and other items totaling 12.32 lakhs. The arrested individuals were Moinuddin Salauddin Ansari, Rashid Jamal aka Banarasi Usmangani Ansari, and Mohammad Jafar Mohammad Siddik Godil.

Smuggling Drugs from Mumbai and Selling to Regular Customers

Accused Mohammad Jafar began bringing MD drugs from Mumbai due to a downturn in his business over the past month. He, along with his associates, would meet at the pan shop to conduct their operations. Rashid Jamal was responsible for finding customers, and Mohammad Jafar would weigh and sell the drugs. Rashid Jamal and Moinuddin would then meet the customers in person to finalize the transactions.

Communicating with Drug Buyers Using Code Words

The accused would deliver the drugs in alleyways and collect the money. The main accused, Mohammad Jamal, avoided using his name by making all calls from Moinuddin’s mobile phone. These cunning individuals communicated with customers using the code word “medicine” for drugs. The police have arrested all three suspects and are conducting further investigations into the matter.
