Diverse 1800 Guests: Village Heads, Farmers & Laborers to Grace Independence Day at Red Fort

The central government has invited around 1,800 special guests from across the country to participate in the Independence Day celebration scheduled at the Red Fort on August 15. This includes PM-KISAN beneficiaries as well. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist the flag.

After a few hours, the country is gearing up to celebrate the 77th Independence Day. On this special occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort for the record 10th consecutive time. Stringent security arrangements have been made around the Red Fort. The Independence Day celebration at the Red Fort on August 15 will hold significance in various aspects. This time, around 1,800 special guests from across the country, including PM-KISAN beneficiaries, have been invited.

This initiative aligns with the government’s ‘participatory’ approach. Among these special guests, over 400 village heads from more than 660 vibrant villages are participating. Additionally, 250 farmers associated with the Farmer Producer Organization scheme, 50-50 beneficiaries of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme and PM-Kaus…

Employees of the Border Roads Organization and those involved in the Amrit Sarovar Projects and the Har Ghar Jal Yojana Projects have also been invited to the Independence Day celebration, along with their life partners. Additionally, the list includes 50-50 teachers of primary schools, nurses, and fishermen.

According to the Ministry of Defence, some special guests among them will visit the National War Memorial during their visit to Delhi and have a meeting with Defence Minister Ajay Bhatt. The Ministry of Defence has stated that 75 pairs from each state/union territory have been invited to witness the Red Fort celebration in their traditional attire.

All official invitations have been sent online through the Invitation Portal (www.aamantran.mod.gov.in). Through this portal, a total of 17,000 e-invitation cards have been issued.

Dedicated selfie points for various government initiatives and programs have been established at 12 locations, including the National War Memorial, India Gate, Vijay Chowk, New Delhi Railway Station, Pragati Maidan, Rajghat, Jama Masjid Metro Station, Rajiv Chowk Metro Station, Delhi Gate Metro Station, ITO Metro Gate, Naubat Khana, and Sheesh Ganj Gurudwara, in New Delhi.

These initiatives/programs encompass global aspirations: Vaccination and Yoga; Ujjwala Scheme; Space Power; Digital India; Skill India; Start-Up India; Swachh Bharat; Samarth Bharat, New India; Empowering India; Powering India; Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme; and Jal Jeevan Mission.

As part of this event, the Ministry of Defence will organize an online selfie competition on the MaiGov portal from August 15 to 20. Individuals will be encouraged to take selfies at one or more of the 12 designated locations and upload them to the MaiGov platform. A total of twelve winners, one from each location, will be selected based on the online selfie competition. Each winner will receive a prize of ₹10,000.

The Defence Minister will welcome the Prime Minister.

Upon reaching the Red Fort, the Prime Minister will be welcomed by Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh, Defence State Minister Shri Ajay Bhatt, and Defence Secretary Shri Girdhar Aramane. Defence Secretary, Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Delhi Area, will introduce the Prime Minister to the Delhi region. Following this, the GOC, Delhi Area, will escort Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to the Salami Sthal, where a joint inter-services and Delhi Police Guard will salute the Prime Minister. Afterward, the Prime Minister will inspect the Guard of Honor.

As soon as the Prime Minister unfurls the national flag, a floral shower will be conducted at the program site through the arrangement of two advanced light helicopters of the Indian Air Force, HAL Dhruv Mk-III, in a parapet formation. The helicopter captains, Wing Commander Amber Agarwal and Squadron Leader Himanshu Sharma, will lead this activity. Additionally, as part of the event, NCC cadets will be seated on the knowledge path in their uniforms. Another attraction will be the formation of the Jai Hind symbol by J-20, which will be a part of the floral decoration at the Red Fort.
