Sleeper Coach Bus Hits Tempo on Dholpur National Highway: 12 Dead, Including 8 Children, While Returning from Wedding Ceremony

A devastating accident occurred near Sunipur village on National Highway-11B in Dholpur, Rajasthan, around 11:30 PM. A sleeper coach bus collided with a tempo, hurling the vehicle into the air. The accident claimed 12 lives, including 8 children, while the bus driver sustained injuries and was admitted to the Dholpur District Hospital.

According to available information, the victims were returning from a wedding ceremony. It is reported that most of the deceased were children. The police arrived at the scene and transferred the bodies to the mortuary at Bari Hospital. The accident occurred late Saturday night in the Bari subdivision.

As soon as the information about the accident was received, crowds of people gathered outside the hospital.

Wedding Celebration Turns Tragic: 12 Killed in Dholpur Accident

According to reports, around 15 residents of Karim Gumat in Bari city had gone to attend a wedding ceremony in Barauli, located in the Sarmathura area. Most of the group consisted of children. Late at night, they were returning to Bari in a tempo. At approximately 11:30 PM, a sleeper coach bus traveling from Dholpur to Jaipur collided with the tempo near Sunipur village on National Highway-11B.

The collision caused panic at the scene, and several vehicles passing by stopped to help and informed the police. The police quickly transported the injured from the tempo to Bari Hospital. The bus involved in the accident was also damaged and has been seized by the authorities.

Four people were referred to Dholpur in critical condition from Bari Hospital, but two died on the way.

11 Dead Before Reaching Hospital, 1 More Succumbs on the Way

PMO of Bari Hospital, Dr. Harikishan Mangal, stated that the tragic incident occurred around 11:30 PM. The injured were brought to Bari Hospital by midnight. The medical team immediately tried to provide emergency treatment to everyone. 

A total of 14 people were brought to the hospital, of which 11 had already passed away. Four severely injured individuals were referred to Dholpur, but one of them died on the way. Two other injured victims are currently receiving treatment at Dholpur Hospital.
