Congress’s Nyay Yatra Reaches Ahmedabad; Padyatra from Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan to Sabarmati Ashram Scheduled for Today
To seek justice for the victims of the Morbi bridge collapse, Rajkot fire, Takshashila fire, and Harni boat tragedy, the Gujarat Congress initiated a “Nyay Yatra” from Morbi on August 9th.
This march reached Sanand Chowkdi, Sarkhej this morning, August 22nd, and will then proceed towards Chandkheda. The 300-kilometer march, starting from Morbi, will conclude in Gandhinagar.
Congress President Shaktisinh Gohil Details the March Route and Activities
Shaktisinh Gohil, President of the Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee, has outlined the route for the padyatra (foot march) that will start from Morbi, passing through Rajkot, Surendranagar, Ahmedabad, and finally reaching Gandhinagar.
On August 22nd, at 3:00 PM, a padyatra will commence from Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan to Sabarmati Ashram. Participants will join the march carrying placards highlighting corruption in the BJP government and scandals revealed in the recent Hindenburg report concerning SEBI. The day’s events will conclude with a prayer meeting at Sabarmati Ashram at 5:30 PM.
Gohil on Congress’s Efforts and Public Engagement
Shaktisinh Gohil further stated that the Congress has made efforts to assist people by going directly to the streets and engaging with them. The “Nyay Yatra” was initiated considering issues like damage from heavy rainfall and waterlogging problems.
In areas where the government does not listen to public concerns, the Congress’s march has forced the government to take action and engage in dialogue. He also mentioned that a box has been placed during the march to collect people’s questions, which Congress leaders will present to the government.
Gohil expressed satisfaction that the Congress party raised issues that were otherwise unheard, making direct contact with the people.
