On the second day of the Gujarat government’s 11th Chintan Shibir held in Somnath, a keynote session was conducted on the use of deep technology to strengthen government services, focusing on topics such as AI and data analytics. 

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel was present at this session. The day’s events began with senior state officials participating in yoga and pranayama at the Somnath Temple’s seaside, setting the tone for the discussions ahead.

NVIDIA Director Jigar Halani provided insights on utilizing AI technology to enhance the accessibility of public welfare services and improve government administration. He discussed the potential and current initiatives aimed at developing an AI model for Gujarat.

Highlighting practical applications, Halani mentioned how Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s radio program, Mann Ki Baat, is currently accessible in 23 languages through AI, and how AI is effectively used in judicial processes. 

He presented ways to leverage AI technology to make state government welfare campaigns more effective and ensure that public welfare services reach those in need more efficiently.

They collectively deliberated on leveraging this emerging AI sector for the holistic development of the state, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).
