Case Against 2 Journalists for Photographing PM Modi: Unauthorized Entry at Mumbai Airport to Capture Prime Minister’s Photo

In Mumbai, a complaint has been lodged against a reporter and a video journalist for allegedly taking photographs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi without authorization. The incident took place when Prime Minister Modi was present at the airport, and both individuals reportedly entered a nearby building without permission to capture his photos while he was standing at the airport. Both individuals were working for news channels at the time of the incident.

This incident dates back to April 1st, when Prime Minister Modi visited Mumbai. The complaint was filed by the flat owner and rickshaw driver, Mahesh Patel (61). The police stated on April 3rd that the complainant alleges that two journalists forcefully entered his flat in SRA Society near Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, where they captured a video of the Prime Minister without permission.

Mahesh stated in his complaint that both accused individuals informed him that they had obtained permission from the housing society’s secretary and security guard to shoot a video of the Prime Minister. 

Following this, both individuals forcefully entered the flat after pushing Mahesh aside. They stayed on the flat’s terrace for about 15 minutes, during which they captured photographs of Prime Minister Modi and his private aircraft.

Case Registered Under Four Sections of IPC

A police official has disclosed that a case has been registered at the Ville Parle Police Station against two journalists under four sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC): 448 (trespassing without permission), 188 (disobedience to the order of a public servant), and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt). However, no arrests have been made so far.
