55 Passengers Injured as Bus Plunges into River: Accident Near Ranuja, 12 Hurt

Private Bus Accident on Ambaji-Abu Road Highway

This afternoon, a private bus met with an accident on the Ambaji-Abu Road highway. The route from Ambaji to Abu Road is hilly and steep, leading to frequent accidents. Additionally, the road has numerous sharp turns. Reckless driving and vehicle malfunctions also contribute to some of these accidents. Today, at a bend near Surpagla on the Ambaji-Abu Road, a private bus lost control of its steering and fell into a river.

The accident occurred near Ambaji when the bus fell into the river. The bus had more than 55 passengers on board. The incident took place near Surpagla on the Ambaji-Abu Road. Upon receiving the news, Abu Road police rushed to the scene, along with the Abu Road magistrate. Out of the over 55 passengers, around twelve people were injured.

The devotees were returning to Gujarat after visiting Ranakpur. This is the fourth consecutive accident at this location. Previously, one bus and two trucks had also fallen into the river here. The Rajasthan police showcased commendable work by rescuing people from the river amidst the ongoing rain. Devotees from Derol, Gujarat, were on a three-day pilgrimage to Rajasthan’s Ranakpur. The accident occurred on their way back between Abu Road and Ambaji. Fortunately, a major tragedy was averted in this accident.
