Blast at Sihor GIDC Rolling Mill: Three Workers Severely Injured, Police Seal Off Area
Bhavnagar, Gujarat – A sudden explosion rocked a factory in the GIDC industrial area of Sihor city on Monday morning, leaving three workers critically injured. The blast created panic among the surrounding residents and workers in the vicinity.

As soon as the incident was reported, local police, fire brigade teams, and ambulances rushed to the site. The injured workers were given primary medical aid before being shifted to Sir T. Hospital in Bhavnagar for further treatment. The explosion has caused significant financial damage to the factory. Authorities have sealed the area and launched a detailed investigation into the incident.

The three injured workers have been identified as:
- Raju Bhai Verma (Resident of Uttar Pradesh)
- Sanjay Bhai Chauhan (Resident of Sihor)
- Shivmangalam (Resident of Uttar Pradesh)

This incident has once again highlighted severe lapses in industrial safety standards at Sihor GIDC. According to local sources, such accidents have occurred frequently in the area. Many factories reportedly lack essential safety equipment and protocols, putting workers—especially laborers from economically weaker backgrounds—at risk.
Official Statement from Authorities
Sihor Mamlatdar Rameshbhai Prajapati confirmed that the explosion occurred at Har Devendra Rolling Mill near Sihor Railway Crossing due to a boiler blast. “As soon as we were informed, our team reached the site. Three workers have suffered injuries, and we have initiated the official panchnama (site inspection) procedure,” he said.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the explosion and ensure that safety measures are reinforced to prevent such incidents in the future.
