In a conversation with Divya Bhaskar, Kalpesh Nizama, the father of the deceased student Vishwa Nizama, expressed that imposing a fine of lakhs of rupees would make no difference. He emphasized the need to cancel the recognition of New Sunrise School. If the recognition of this school is revoked, it should set an example for all schools in Vadodara and across Gujarat. Schools should be vigilant when taking students on trips, ensuring permissions are obtained from the District Education Officer (DEO) office.
Nizama further stated that the entire incident reflects the school’s accountability. They had entrusted their children to the school’s care, and the responsibility lies with the school management. He emphasized the importance of holding schools accountable to prevent any such tragedies in the future. The accountability of the school should extend to ensure the safety of every student, preventing the loss of lives in future incidents.
This tragic incident has sparked discussions about the need for strict measures to ensure the safety and well-being of students during school trips. The authorities are now urged to take appropriate actions against the school involved and set a precedent for ensuring the safety of students in schools across the region.
