Bhuj Witnesses Fatal Crash on Kodki Road
A devastating accident occurred on Saturday afternoon (December 28) near the BSF camp on Kodki Road in Bhuj. A speeding Creta car collided with a bike carrying three young men at a crossroads. The impact was so severe that the bikers were flung into the air like footballs, landing about 20 feet away on the road. One died on the spot, another succumbed to injuries during treatment, and the third remains hospitalized with critical injuries. CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced, revealing the shocking sequence of events.
What the CCTV Footage Reveals
The footage shows routine traffic on Kodki Road when a bike carrying three men attempts to cross the road. At the same time, a speeding Creta car approaches and collides with the bike mid-turn. The impact is so violent that the bikers are thrown into the air before hitting the ground. A nearby rickshaw driver, who was also crossing the road, narrowly avoids being involved in the accident.
Severe Injuries and Loss of Life
The collision caused the three bikers to be flung off the bike and crash onto the road, sustaining severe injuries. Two victims, Naresh Bhimji Charan (27) and Aamad Hasam Sama (37), succumbed to their injuries, while the third is undergoing treatment for fractures and other critical injuries.
Police Investigation Underway
According to Bhuj A-Division Police, the car driver fled the scene after initially assisting the injured. The police have registered a preliminary report and are investigating further.
This tragic accident has cast a shadow of grief over the community, leaving residents in shock and mourning.
