Bhavnagar Police Destroys ₹2 Crore Worth of Illegal Liquor Bottles Over 1 Lakh

Today, the Bhavnagar Police destroyed a stockpile of English liquor and beer worth over ₹2 crore, seized from eight police stations in the district over the past year.

The destruction included liquor seized under the jurisdictions of Nilambag Police Station, Ghogha Road Police Station, Gangajaliya Police Station, Bortalav Police Station, Bharatnagar Police Station, Velavadar Bhal Police Station, Vartej Police Station, and Ghogha Police Station in Bhavnagar city. More than 100,000 bottles of various brands of English liquor, beer bottles, and cans were destroyed today. Police personnel were engaged in this operation for the past three days. The task was carried out under the supervision of the City DYSP and the District Magistrate.

The liquor and beer stock seized from all divisions was brought to an isolated location near Sodvadra village under Vartej jurisdiction early in the morning. It was destroyed by crushing it under rollers. Providing official information, City DYSP Sindhal stated that the police department regularly destroys seized liquor under court and legal oversight. This morning, police officers from all divisions, administrative officials, and staff gathered at Sodvadra village to carry out the destruction in the presence of a panch (witness). Bhavnagar Police had seized over ₹2 crore worth of liquor and beer, including more than 100,000 bottles and cans, over the past year, which were destroyed today in the presence of witnesses.
