Massive Fire at Plastic Drum Manufacturing Company in Bharuch: 12 Fire Tenders Deployed, No Casualties Reported
Bharuch: A massive fire broke out late at night at Time Techno, a plastic drum manufacturing company located near Uchhad village in Jambusar taluka, Bharuch district. The fire, which started suddenly, quickly spread, turning into a devastating blaze.
12 Fire Tenders Rushed to the Scene
As soon as the fire was reported, emergency services were alerted, and a total of 12 fire tenders from nearby areas were dispatched to control the inferno. Due to the presence of plastic materials, firefighters faced significant challenges in bringing the fire under control.

Damage Assessment Still Pending
Local authorities, including the police, Mamlatdar, and revenue officials, promptly arrived at the scene to assess the situation. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported. Firefighting teams continue their efforts to douse the flames, while the extent of the damage is yet to be determined.
Police and Medical Teams On-Site
Jambusar Mamlatdar N.S. Vasava stated that the fire erupted between 3:30 AM and 4:00 AM. With plastic barrels and flammable materials inside, the fire escalated rapidly. Assistance was sought from nearby companies’ fire brigades, and most of the fire has now been contained. Additionally, police and medical teams were deployed to the site. While no injuries were reported, the company has suffered significant losses.
Another Fire in Ankleshwar Scrap Warehouse
In a separate incident, a major fire broke out late at night at a scrap warehouse near National Highway 48 in Ankleshwar. The flames and thick smoke were visible from a great distance, creating panic in the surrounding area. Three fire tenders from Ankleshwar DPMC rushed to the site, but as the fire spread to nearby warehouses, additional help was required. Five more fire tenders from the Notified Area Authority were deployed, successfully containing the blaze by early morning.
Scrap Warehouse Lacked Fire Safety Measures
Upon investigation, officials found that the warehouse lacked a fire NOC and essential fire safety equipment. Moreover, operators were illegally storing hazardous chemical waste. During the firefighting operation, some warehouse operators misbehaved with fire personnel, prompting police intervention. Authorities are now investigating the incident and have issued notices to those responsible.

A third fire incident was reported at the Navapura GIDC in Mangrol, Surat district. The fire broke out in the Cisco company, which manufactures packaging materials for biscuits and wafers. The sudden blaze led to panic as the flames engulfed the facility. The situation worsened when chemical-filled drums inside the factory exploded.

Partial Control Achieved After 6 Hours
Fire brigades from Sumilon, Kamrej, Mandvi, Bardoli, and Surat Municipal Corporation rushed to the scene. However, the metal shed structure made firefighting efforts difficult. After six hours of continuous firefighting, authorities managed to bring the fire partially under control.
These incidents highlight the urgent need for stringent fire safety measures in industrial areas to prevent such disasters in the future.
