Fire Breaks Out at Bank of India’s Jamalpur Branch Due to AC Short Circuit; 50 Present

A fire broke out at the Bank of India located in Ahmedabad’s Jamalpur area, causing panic among those present. Upon being alerted by locals, the fire department quickly responded, sending firefighters to the scene. The fire brigade team managed to control the fire promptly. Smoke spread throughout the bank, and at the time of the fire, 50 people, including staff, were inside.

Staff and Others Evacuated Safely

According to the information received, around 12:30 PM today, the Ahmedabad Fire Brigade control room received a message that a fire had broken out at the Bank of India near Khamasa Crossroads. Following the message, four fire trucks from the Jamalpur Fire Brigade were immediately dispatched to the scene. Due to the fire, smoke filled the bank, and those present, including the staff, quickly evacuated. The fire brigade used equipment to bring the fire under control as the smoke spread throughout the bank. Upon learning of the incident, Chief Fire Officer Jayesh Khadia and Additional Chief Fire Officer Mithun Mistry, along with other officials, arrived at the scene promptly.

Short Circuit in AC Caused the Fire

The initial investigation by the fire brigade revealed that the fire started due to a short circuit in the air conditioning unit in the administration department located on the first floor of the bank.
