Authorities Demolish 200 Illegal Encroachments at Asodar Crossroads with Tight Security
In the Asodar Crossroad area of Anklav Taluka, significant encroachments had been made on the land belonging to the R&B Department and GSRDC, as well as under the bridge. Small and large vendors had set up stalls, and shopkeepers had constructed illegal sheds and platforms outside their shops. This led to the main road becoming narrower, causing inconvenience to both commuters and pedestrians. The authorities issued notices to the encroachers three times, urging them to remove the encroachments voluntarily. However, most encroachers ignored the notices and failed to clear the area. Today, the Road and Building Department team, with tight police security, reached Asodar Crossroad and cleared about 200 illegal encroachments, making the roads accessible again.
Three Notices Given to Encroachers to Voluntarily Remove Illegal Structures: R&B Official
Jigar Patel, Deputy Executive Engineer of the Road and Building Department, stated that a total of 200 illegal encroachments were cleared today, including 111 on the Anand-Navli-Umeta Road and 85 on the Vasad-Bagodara Highway near Asodar Crossroad. For the past three months, notices had been issued to the encroachers, giving them three opportunities to voluntarily remove the illegal structures. However, as the encroachments were not cleared, today the authorities, in coordination with the administrative team, removed the encroachments.
