Army Vehicle Falls into 350-Foot Gorge in J&K’s Poonch, 5 Soldiers Dead
An army truck carrying 18 soldiers fell into a 350-foot-deep gorge in Poonch district, Jammu & Kashmir, on Tuesday evening. The tragic accident resulted in the death of 5 soldiers, while 10 others were injured, 4 of them critically. Rescue operations are underway to locate 3 missing soldiers.
Soldiers Were En Route to LOC
The accident occurred near the Ghoda Post in the Balnoi area as the vehicle headed toward the Line of Control (LOC). The driver reportedly lost control, causing the vehicle to plunge into the gorge. All soldiers onboard were part of the 11 Maratha Regiment.
Quick Response Team Begins Rescue Operations
Following the incident, the army’s Quick Response Team (QRT) reached the site and initiated rescue operations. The injured soldiers were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
