Reports indicate that Air India conducted walk-in interviews for 1802 utility agent positions, attracting thousands of candidates. The company estimated about 25,000 people came for the interview, while the Aviation Industry Employees Guild (AIEG) put the number closer to 50,000. The rush for jobs became uncontrollable, leading the company to ask people to submit their CVs and leave.

According to reports from India Today, George Abraham, the general secretary of the Aviation Industry Employees Guild (AIEG), said that about 50,000 people arrived at the venue. Candidates were asked to bring demand drafts, but due to the chaos, it was announced that no money would be collected. Candidates were instructed to submit their CVs and leave, with a promise to be called back later. Meanwhile, Ram Babu Chintalachervu, CEO of Air India Airport Services Limited, stated that approximately 15,000 people came to submit application forms.

A Kilometer Long Line

George Abraham, the general secretary of the Aviation Industry Employees Guild (AIEG), mentioned that the company was warned against gathering such large crowds. There was a line about a kilometer long, necessitating the call for police. This situation highlights the issue of unemployment.
