High-Speed Collision in Ahmedabad: XUV Crashes Into AMTS Bus, One Dead
Ahmedabad witnessed a tragic accident this morning near Chandkheda AMTS bus stand when an XUV car, speeding uncontrollably, rammed into the back of an AMTS bus. The impact was so intense that the bus was pushed 10 feet forward. One person lost their life, while another sustained injuries. The Ahmedabad Fire Brigade’s First Response Rescue Vehicle promptly arrived at the scene.
Terrifying Crash at Chandkheda Bus Stand
According to reports, the XUV was traveling at high speed when it crashed into the stationary AMTS bus where passengers were boarding. The loud impact caused panic among commuters, with many screaming in fear.
Fire Brigade’s Swift Rescue Operation
Divisional Fire Officer Pankaj Rawal, who was at the accident site, provided an exclusive statement on the rescue operation. He explained that upon arrival, fire officials found one individual trapped between the car and the bus, while the driver had already been rescued by locals and rushed to the hospital.

Major Tragedy Averted
Fire officials stated that a bigger disaster was narrowly avoided, as the car had stopped just inches away from the CNG cylinder of the AMTS bus. Had the collision been slightly more severe, it could have triggered an explosion, leading to massive casualties.
Firefighters Cut Through the Wreckage
A team of 20 firefighters from Chandkheda and Sabarmati fire stations rushed to the site with rescue vehicles. Using advanced tools such as hydraulic cutters and spreaders, they carefully cut through the metal of both the car and the bus. After 20 minutes of intense effort, they managed to extract the trapped individual, but he was in critical condition and later succumbed to his injuries.
Eyewitnesses Describe the Horrific Scene
Eyewitnesses reported that the XUV had crashed so forcefully that its front wheels were wedged under the bus. The impact was so severe that even passengers boarding the bus were jolted, and a child sustained minor injuries in the chaos.
Car Had to Be Pulled Away Using Ropes
The accident caused the XUV to get tightly lodged against the AMTS bus. Firefighters had to use ropes to pull the car away before removing the wreckage from the site.
One Dead, One Injured
The driver of the XUV survived with injuries, but the person sitting beside him was trapped and later succumbed. The police are investigating the origins of the victims and how the accident occurred.
Authorities are now reviewing CCTV footage to determine the exact cause of the accident, but preliminary reports suggest excessive speed was the main factor.
