Ahmedabad Police: 1,472 Constables Transferred, Must Report to New Postings Within 7 Days

The transfer shuffle of police officers has been discreetly executed in the city once again. The Police Commissioner of Ahmedabad has promptly rotated 1,472 constables who have been serving for 6 years or more in a single police station due to immediate effect. As per directives issued by the Police Commissioner, G.S. Malik, unarmed police constables and head constables in the city have been reassigned. 

The commissioner’s orders state that apart from those who have engaged in any sort of malpractice, the transferred personnel are required to report to their new postings within seven days and appear at the Police Commissioner’s office for verification.

Stir in the Police Department due to Transfers

Prior to the state’s parliamentary elections, a wave of transfers is sweeping through the police department, particularly targeting officials with investigative powers. Suddenly, the transfers initiated by the Police Commissioner in Ahmedabad have stirred up a whirlwind of activity within the police circles. 

Yesterday, Police Commissioner G.S. Malik issued a stern directive to crack down on the tendencies of laxity in handling cases related to alcohol and gambling in the city. It was mentioned in the directive that any police officer found negligent in such duties would face disciplinary actions, as outlined in the notice.

Transfers of 25 Deputy Collectors Across the State

Before the Lok Sabha elections, a wave of transfers among various departments’ employees has commenced in the state. Today, just a day prior, 25 deputy collectors from various regions of the state were transferred. The transfers were conducted with the election commission’s guidance in mind, particularly focusing on the directions provided by the revenue department. Most of the deputy collectors have been transferred within districts.

Sanand (Old-Vejalpur) Deputy Mamlatdar Jaykumar Barot has been transferred as a Deputy Mamlatdar in Siddhpur, Patan. Additionally, Banaskantha’s District Supply Officer Kiritbhai K Chaudhary has been transferred to Palanpur as the District Supply Officer. Following this, Balwantsinh Rajput, the District Supply Officer of Sabarkantha, has been transferred to Himatnagar as the DC-Stamp Duty.

Furthermore, Dahod’s Ahwa Deputy Mamlatdar Pritesh Patel has been transferred as a Deputy Mamlatdar in S.K. Mowalia’s Ahwa region. Charansinh Gohil, the Deputy Mamlatdar of Botad, has been transferred as the Deputy Collector of Junagadh. Bhumi B. Keshwala, the Deputy DEO of Junagadh, has been transferred as the Deputy DEO of Bhavnagar, under the Controller of Civil Defense, Bhavnagar.

Pareshkumar T, the District Supply Officer of Botad, has been transferred to Ahmedabad as the Deputy Collector-Admin. Kunjal K, the Deputy DEO of Mahisagar, has been transferred to Ahmedabad as the Deputy Collector-LR, O/o Collector, Ahmedabad. Anand’s Boras Deputy Mamlatdar HZ Bhaliya has been transferred to Jhalod, Anand as the Deputy Mamlatdar.

Moreover, Chandni Parmar, the Deputy DEO of Junagadh, who was managing Rajkot District’s Rajkot City-1, has been transferred as the Deputy Collector of Rajkot District. Virendra S. Desai, the Deputy Mamlatdar of Amreli District, has been transferred as the Deputy Collector of Viramgam, Ahmedabad District.
