Extended Metro Service for Ahmedabadites During Navratri: Trains Running Till 2 AM with Frequent Service After 10 PM
During the ongoing Navratri festival, Garba celebrations are taking place in Ahmedabad. To facilitate transportation for the late-night revelers, the Ahmedabad Metro train service will run until 2 AM. Starting today, October 23rd, the metro trains will continue to operate until 2 AM. After 10 PM, trains will run in both corridors at intervals of 20 minutes. Additionally, metro services have been extended until 1 AM for the convenience of cricket fans attending matches at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
Metro train services in Ahmedabad operate from 6:20 AM to 10:00 PM daily. During the day, trains run at 20-minute intervals from 6:20 AM to 7:00 PM. From 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, trains operate at fixed intervals of 12 minutes. For the celebration of the Navratri festival, from October 17th to October 23rd, the metro train services have been extended until 2:00 AM.
Starting from this coming Monday, metro train services will run until 2:00 AM. From October 17th to October 23rd, during the Navratri festival, the metro train services will be available from 6:20 AM to 10:00 PM. After 10:00 PM, trains will run at 20-minute intervals from each terminal station, and the last train from each corridor will depart at midnight (2:00 AM).
During the cricket match, metro trains will run from 6:20 AM to 1:00 AM the following day. The availability of the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited (GMRC) services provides a convenient transportation option for people attending the cricket matches, and it will be especially beneficial during match days. On such days, the metro train service will extend beyond its usual operating hours, allowing fans to conveniently access and leave the stadium. Please note that a paper ticket priced at Rs. 50 will be required to use this service, and the nearest station to Gate Number 1 is located just 100 meters away, making it a practical choice for most fans.
During match days, metro stations will have only the exit gates open after 10:00 PM. The Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Limited (GMRC) has announced that, from 10:00 PM onwards on match days, passengers will be allowed to exit the metro stations through the exit gates only. However, there will be no entry through these exit gates. The last train will depart from the Modi Stadium and Sabarmati metro stations at 1:00 AM on match days. To facilitate the purchase of tickets for passengers after the match, a separate ticket counter for paper tickets priced at Rs. 50 will be made available at the Motera Stadium metro station. This will allow passengers to quickly and efficiently purchase their paper tickets for the metro ride back to their destinations after the match. The upcoming matches are scheduled for November 4, 2023, November 10, 2023, and November 19, 2023.
