Parents Alert: Action if Kids Violate Vehicle Rules to School; DEO, RTO, Police Drive Soon

The number of accidents in Ahmedabad is continuously rising, with several cases emerging where minors are caught driving. In response, the Rural DEO (District Education Officer) of Ahmedabad has issued a circular to schools, informing them that if students arrive at school with vehicles in violation of the law, they should be stopped. In the coming weeks, the DEO will organize a drive in collaboration with the traffic police and RTO, where action will be taken against the parents of students who bring unauthorized vehicles.

Action Against Students Driving Illegally

Ahmedabad Rural DEO Krupa Jha stated that under the MV Act (Motor Vehicles Act), children are not allowed to drive vehicles over 125cc, yet students continue to bring such vehicles to school. This endangers the safety of the children, parents, and the school. As a result, a circular has been issued, informing school principals to notify the parents if any student is found with unauthorized vehicles. In the near future, a drive will be conducted with the help of the RTO and traffic police. If any student is still found bringing a vehicle to school after being warned, action will be taken against them.

Drive to be Conducted Inside and Outside Schools

The DEO plans to conduct the drive not only outside but also inside the schools. If any vehicles belonging to students are found in the school parking lot, an investigation will be conducted. Even if the child is not caught driving but it is found that they brought the vehicle to school, action will be taken. Schools are required to inform all students and parents about this matter within a week. After that, the DEO, in collaboration with the RTO and police, will conduct surprise checks at various schools.
