AC Blast in Private School in Surat, Fire Breaks Out in Classroom; Students Sent Home

Surat witnessed a major accident when an air conditioner (AC) exploded in a private school, causing a fire in the classroom. The incident took place early in the morning at Saraswati Vidyalaya, located on Ashwini Kumar Road, leading to chaos in the school premises. As soon as the parents were informed about the incident, many rushed to the school in panic. At the time of the accident, around 800 students were present on the school campus.

Cause of Fire: AC Explosion

According to initial investigations, the fire broke out due to an AC explosion. However, the school administration acted swiftly and immediately declared a holiday, ensuring that all students were sent home safely. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries have been reported so far. The fire department was able to bring the blaze under control in time.

A fire department official stated that as soon as they received the emergency call, a team was dispatched to the school. The fire started with a loud explosion when the AC in the school library was turned on. However, the fire was brought under control within minutes. The school staff also attempted to extinguish the fire using available fire safety equipment before the fire brigade arrived.

No Casualties Reported

Thanks to quick action by the authorities, all students and staff members remained safe, and no significant damage was reported. Authorities are now investigating the exact cause of the AC blast.
