6 Dead, 8 Injured in Anand as Truck Hits Stationary Bus, Hits People Sitting On Divider

Early this morning, a fatal accident occurred near Anand on the Ahmedabad-Vadodara Express Highway involving a luxury bus traveling from Maharashtra to Rajasthan and a truck. Six people have died, and eight others are injured. The death toll may still rise.

According to the currently available information, the bus had stopped on the side due to a tire burst. At that time, the driver, cleaner, and some passengers had alighted and were sitting on the divider. Suddenly, a speeding truck collided with the bus from behind, causing it to overturn on the people sitting on the divider. Six people were crushed to death in this incident, while eight others were injured. Upon learning about the accident, the local police, fire brigade, and 108 team arrived at the scene and rushed the injured to the hospital. The injured were taken to Anand General Hospital, Karamsad Medical Hospital, and a hospital in Vadodara. The luxury bus was traveling from Maharashtra to Rajasthan.

There has been a continuous increase in accident incidents in the state. Today, a severe accident occurred near Anand. The Ahmedabad-Vadodara Express Highway echoed with cries of death this morning. A truck collided with a bus parked on the side, causing the bus to overturn on the people sitting on the divider. Six people were crushed to death under the bus, while eight others were injured.

I Received News of Death from Mumbai

Relatives of two victims from Ahmedabad in the accident reported, “My name is Keshimal Madarecha. In this accident, my niece-in-law and cousin brother were involved. They were traveling from Mumbai to Nathdwara, Rajasthan. I am their relative and live in Ahmedabad. I received a message from Mumbai that they died in an accident on the Anand highway, and I was asked to reach there immediately. Upon arriving, I learned that their bodies were moved to Anand Surgical Hospital, and the police also handed over their belongings to me. We are now heading to the hospital.”

Mayur Survived by Going for a Urine Break

Mayur (about 28 years old) was traveling with his mother Prema alias Meena Prakashbhai Jain (about 50 years old) and grandfather Poonamchand Hukmichand Jain (about 90 years old) from Mumbai to Nathdwara on a luxury bus. During the journey, the bus had a tire burst, so they, along with other passengers, got down and sat on the divider. After a while, Mayur went to urinate. At that exact moment, the accident occurred, and Mayur’s mother and grandfather died tragically. Mayur survived because he had gone to urinate, according to his relatives. Currently, Mayur is at the police station.
