Skoda Launches Onyx Edition of Kushaq SUV: Competes with Volkswagen Taigun and MG Astor, Know Price and Features

Skoda Auto has introduced the Onyx Edition of the Kushaq SUV, featuring cosmetic updates and added functionalities since March 2023. Initially launched with a base Active trim, the model offered a 115bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol engine paired with a manual gearbox. 

However, Skoda has now unveiled the automatic version of the Kushaq Onyx, priced at ₹13.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It utilizes the same regular model 1.0L TSI gasoline unit (114bhp, 178Nm) but comes with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

The Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition showcases grey graphics on the doors and chrome surrounds on the front grille. The front bumper features a faux diffuser, ‘Onyx’ badging on the B-pillars, and newly designed 16-inch steel wheels with plastic covers, distinct from the regular model. 

Inside, the Kushaq Onyx Edition boasts ‘Onyx’ badging on the scuff plates and headrests, chrome-accented AC vents, a 2-spoke steering wheel, and a dashboard with a textured pattern. In contrast to the regular model, it adopts a black and grey interior theme.

When it comes to features, the Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition offers all amenities available on the entry-level Ambition trim. It includes a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 6-speaker audio system, automatic climate control with air purifier, height-adjustable driver seat, rear wiper with washer, fog lights, and LED headlights. 

Additionally, for safety, this mid-sized SUV comes with dual front airbags, tire pressure monitoring system, electronic stability program, three-point seat belts for all passengers, and ISOFIX anchors for child seats.

In the mid-sized SUV segment, the Skoda Kushaq competes with cars like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Toyota Harrier, Volkswagen Taigun, and MG Astor. The price of this SUV starts from ₹11.99 lakh for the base variant and goes up to ₹20.49 lakh for the top-end trim (ex-showroom).
