MG Motors Hikes Astor Prices by ₹27,000: Compact SUV Now Offers Level-2 ADAS and AI Assistant
MG Motors has raised the price of its compact SUV, the Astor, by up to ₹27,000. This price hike comes after the facelift launch of the Astor earlier this year in the Indian market. The SUV is now equipped with over 49 safety features, including 14 Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) features, and continues to offer a personal AI assistant for enhanced user experience.
Variants with Price Hike
The top-end variants, including Savvy Pro 1.3 Turbo AT (Sangria Red), CVT (Ivory), and 1.5 CVT (Sangria Red), have seen a price increase of ₹27,000. Other models such as Sharp Pro 1.5-liter CVT (Ivory) are now priced ₹26,000 higher. Additionally, the Select 1.5 CVT (Ivory) is now ₹21,000 more expensive, while the Sharp Pro 1.5-liter MT (Ivory) variant has seen a ₹24,000 increase.
In a similar move, the Select 1.5-liter MT (Ivory) and Shine 1.5-liter MT (Ivory) variants have both received a ₹20,000 hike. Earlier in June this year, the prices of the Astor had already been increased by ₹26,800. Currently, the price of the SUV starts at ₹9.98 lakh and goes up to ₹18.35 lakh (ex-showroom).

In India, the MG Astor competes with popular models such as the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq.
2024 MG Astor: New Features
The 2024 MG Astor brings a range of new features including front ventilated seats, an auto-dimming IRVM, and a wireless phone charger. The car now boasts over 49 safety features, including a 360-degree surround-view camera and 14 Level-2 ADAS features.
The 10.1-inch infotainment system is now standard across all variants and has been upgraded with Smart 2.0 UI. It offers a more connected car experience with integrated features such as weather updates, news, a calculator, and voice commands powered by Jio Voice Recognition. The infotainment system also supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
2024 MG Astor: Performance
The engine and gearbox options remain unchanged in the 2024 MG Astor. As before, two engine options are available: a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 110ps of power and 144Nm of torque, and a 1.3-liter turbo-petrol engine that produces 140ps of power and 220Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic, and CVT gearbox.
Safety and Driver Assistance
Like its predecessor, the new MG Astor is loaded with features such as automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a 6-way power-adjustable driver seat, and more. For passenger safety, it includes 6 airbags, electronic stability control, hill ascent and descent control, and heated ORVMs.
The advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) further enhances safety with features such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping and departure assist, and blind-spot detection.
